Alicia & Johnny Heat Things Up On 'The Good Wife'

by Alex Kritselis

Well, things are certainly heating up between Alicia Florrick and Johnny Elfman! On Sunday night's new episode of The Good Wife, "Open Source," Alicia and Johnny kissed again, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I mean, I'm glad the writers finally addressed the romantic tension between the two characters (well, sort of) — but are they a good match? I don't know. Last week, we learned that Alicia fantasizes about Johnny, Finn Polmar, AND Will Gardner at times, which tells us that her feelings regarding the men in her life are... complicated at the moment (to say the least). I'm not sure she knows what she wants right now (and, obviously, that's OK).

Of course, Alicia and Johnny kissing again doesn't automatically make them a couple or anything, but I do wonder if that's the direction the show is heading. After all, we now know that Johnny won't be traveling to California to work on another campaign after the state's attorney election is over, so he could be hanging around the Chicago area for a while longer. This might sound strange (especially because I have nothing against Johnny), but I kind of wish he were leaving.

Why? Well, I've done some soul searching, and I think it all comes down to this: I still want Alicia and Finn to be together. There. I said it.

Alicia and Johnny are definitely attracted to each other, yes, but is there more to it than that? Or have they developed feelings for each other in part because they've spent nearly every waking moment together for the past several months working on the campaign? Hmm. On the flip side, Alicia and Finn have such a deep emotional connection. They really seem to care about one another. (Besides, Julianna Margulies has much better on-screen chemistry with Matthew Goode than she does with Steven Pasquale... in my opinion, anyway.) I want Alicia and Finn to happen so badly.

Will I ever get my wish? Or will Jalicia officially become a thing as Season 6 marches towards the finish line?

We'll just have to wait and see.
