Watch Reese Witherspoon's Justin Bieber Impression

by Nick Romano

Reese Witherspoon may have taken her most impressive dramatic turn yet, but she's still that comedy gal with love so much. The latest Hot Pursuit trailer features the Wild star in a new buddy-buddy movie with the Modern Family star Sofia Vergara, and it looks like an outrageous time. Look, these two are no Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock, but they definitely bring The Heat in this story of murder, drugs and southern charm.

Witherspoon takes the role of an uptight cop who does everything by the book. The Louisiana-born actress embraces her thick, southern belle accent, which just tickles me to no end. In trying to protect a widow of a drug boss (Vergara), she and her charge are framed and chased through Texas by crooked cops, the drug cartel and the law.

In the tradition of the more off-the-rails comedies such as The Heat, Ride Along and the Jump Street movies, there's a lot of shenanigans being pulled, including tussles with cocaine, a rifle-toting hillbilly and, of course, Vergara's signature touch. But the gem buried within this hilarious trailer is Witherspoon's Justin Bieber impersonation. In attempting to hide from her pursuers, she dresses up like a man and is mistaken for the Biebs.

Bieber may have suffered enough with his epic Comedy Central Roast , but what's a little more torment, right? He kind of deserves it, after the majority of his life actively trying to be a douche. And, frankly, Witherspoon is just so good at the Bieber hair flip.

Then there's Vergara. She may be a one-trick pony — we've only really seen her flaunting her flamboyant Gloria personality — but her trick is so delightful. Whenever we hear voice our heart starts to flourish not entirely unlike this...

There's recently been such harsh criticism of the sausage fest that is the Hollywood industry that there's not enough female-driven offerings. Not only does Hot Pursuit feature two dynamite ladies, but it's also directed by a woman: Anne Fletcher, who previously helmed the first Step Up movie, 27 Dresses and The Proposal. It's about time more women tell their own stories for a change. But, of course, there's a little bit of eye candy.

Hot Pursuit hits theaters in a month's time on May 8. Count me in!
