Hear Little Mix's Magical New Single

I hope you're ready, Mixers: Little Mix's new single, "Black Magic," is here and it's a blast of witch-y, summery fun. Despite its title, "Black Magic" actually has nothing to do with evil spirits, gargoyles, goblins or any of that other spooky stuff (though I would like to hear a song that samples this iconic Trading Spouses clip someday). Instead, the "Black Magic" lyrics reveal the group's secret recipe for a love potion that will help women all around the world land the guy of their dreams. Uh... OK?

So, in a way, I guess the track is a little dark-sided — but in a campy, totally non-threatening way. Besides, it has this carefree, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun"/"Jack & Diane" vibe that you're absolutely going to love. Of course, the message that a woman should change herself in order to please a man is more than a little gross (and more than a little out of character for Little Mix), but given how silly the track is in general (we're talking about magic potions here, people), I'm not too worried about listeners taking it to heart.

Come to think of it, "Black Magic" is kind of like Little Mix's answer to Kelis' "Milkshake" — only they're not using Hershey's syrup, ice cream, and a blender to mix up their magical concoction, no. If I've learned anything about witchcraft from Hocus Pocus (and I'd like to think that I have), they're using oil of boil, a dead man's toe, and a giant iron cauldron. Wait a minute... are Little Mix the second coming of the Sanderson sisters? It's entirely possible. Perrie is definitely Sarah Jessica Parker, but I'm not sure about the other three yet. (Obviously, I'll need to invent a fourth, previously unseen sister. Fortunately, I think I'm up to the challenge.) Listen to "Black Magic" below.
