What Movies Are Leaving Netflix In July?

by Kelsie Gibson

Well, fellow marathon watchers, it's that time of the month again — the time when Netflix clears out its inventory to make way for all its new movies and shows. The list of what shows are leaving Netflix in July has just been released, and, let's just say, it is pretty lengthy. While I'm all for new additions, such as Jennifer Lawrence's Serena, if we're being completely honest here, I didn't even realize some of these great movies were available to stream. Which makes saying goodbye to them next month even that much harder. That's right people, you better start watching these favorites now before some of them disappear from your queue for good.

Among the list are some pretty big movie hits, such as Oscar nominees Big Fish, Cast Away and Fried Green Tomatoes. What a perfect excuse to dress up and have an Academy Awards-themed movie marathon with your friends. Honestly, how Tom Hanks did not snag Best Actor for making audiences cry like babies over a Wilson volleyball still fathoms me. You better get the popcorn out now because it's going to be a long June packing in all of these movie classics.

Below is a list of the movies you need to catch now before they expire on Netflix.

Big Fish (2003)

This Tim Burton film tells an interesting story about a dying father and his son as he tries to piece together different tales of his father's upbringing. It also showcases Miley Cyrus' first movie role, which in itself is pretty cool.

Cast Away (2000)

If you ever doubted Tom Hanks' acting abilities, be sure to catch this classic in which a FedEx executive goes full on Lost and tries to survive on a deserted island with no companion but a washed up volleyball.

Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994)

A '90s British rom-com wouldn't be complete without misguided love and Hugh Grant. Aside from receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture, this one will surely make you laugh and cry.

Fried Green Tomatoes (1991)

Another southern charm leaving Netflix's repertoire. This story follows the lives of two women whose paths meet unexpectedly in a nursing home.

Jack Frost (1998)

Pour the hot chocolate and get ready for a lot of tears. This film takes a new spin on the classic character of Jack Frost when Michael Keaton gets turned into a snowman.

She's All That (1999)

Not gonna lie, I'm super upset about this movie's exit. It's a Freddie Prinze Jr. classic. If you haven't seen it, go watch it now and relive everything great about the typical '90s high school movie.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)

Contrary to popular belief, he may not be back. Catch Arnold Schwarzenegger's most popular (and most quoted) role to date.

The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984)

Come on, you know you want to. Watch your favorite muppets as they try to get their big break in the Big Apple.

Racing Stripes (2005)

Before playing Juliette Barnes on the hit show, Nashville, Hayden Panettiere was a teenage girl helping a zebra become a racehorse. Another plus? The zebra is voiced by none other than Frankie Muniz.
