Vicky Vox Is A Scene Stealer In 'Magic Mike XXL'
From Channing Tatum's dance to "Pony" to Joe Manganiello's routine set to the tune of "I Want It That Way," Magic Mike XXL is currently lap dancing its way all over the country — and audiences are eating it up. Of course, Tatum and Manganiello are the big marquee names of the movie, but the biggest treat is all those cameos. Viewers see Michael Strahan, Elizabeth Banks and even wrestling star Ric Flair, but one familiar face might have some people a bit more stumped. Who plays the drag queen in Magic Mike XXL ? The character of Tori Snatch is a great role, but many might not realize that the actress who takes it on is actually a well-known drag queen herself.
Known for her involvement in the music group DWV (their song "Chow Down (at Chick-Fil-A)" is on point) and her attempt to be on Ru Paul's Drag Race, Vicky Vox takes on the role of Tori Snatch in the just released sequel. In the movie, Vox pops up as the emcee at a club called Mad Mary's, which Mike and the boys stop into on their road trip to the coveted stripping convention. When Tori invites people to come on the stage to compete in an amateur drag queen competition, the boys waste no time in getting themselves up there. Some of their skills leave much to be desired (Matt Bomer, I expected more), but it's Tatum's moves that are probably the most impressive (considering his vogueing skills, this shouldn't be a surprise), and Tori seems to love every moment. If you want to see Vox in action, check her out in this clip during The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. (Fast forward to 3:13 if you don't want to see Channing Tatum talk — but why wouldn't you?)
Not getting on Ru Paul must have been tough, but being in a huge Hollywood movie isn't a bad consolation prize. As far back as October 2014, the Internet started buzzing with the excitement of Vox's cameo when a Magic Mike XXL set photo appeared showing a poster of her at a drag club in Georgia. When the movie came out this month earlier this month, she received nothing but love from the world of social media:
Vox seems to have enjoyed her time on set; recently, she was seen promoting the film at the Gay Pride parade in Los Angeles with co-stars Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, and Adam Rodriguez. As you can see from the reactions and the tweets above, Vicky Vox's fanbase is huge, and it will probably just get even bigger after more people see her steal the show in Magic Mike XXL.
