'Vanderpump' Stars Katie & Tom Are Finally Engaged

Apparently an ultimatum can work! Vanderpump Rules stars Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz are engaged, and I can proudly say that it's not a ring on a string. The reality TV stars took to Instagram to announce the news late Tuesday evening, and Maloney was happy to brag about how her longtime boyfriend finally put a ring on it. And by "it," I mean that crucial ring finger.

In Maloney's photo, she holds up her hand with her engagement ring as Schwartz snuggles behind her ear. The photo is captioned with, "So I said... YES!!!!" (I mean, like there was any doubt.) Schwartz's Insta shows Maloney giggling behind her left hand (ring in picture, of course) as he grins for the selfie. Schwartz captioned the shot, The twinkle in my tooth says it all! She said YES!"

In both photos, they look so happy, which is a far cry from how things played out last season. Schwartz's fear of commitment was well-documented on Vanderpump Rules and was a pivotal plot point in their contentious relationship. It's great to see Maloney finally get her diamond, especially since she had given Schwartz a six-month deadline to pop the question or she'd walk. I think all of us can definitely say it's about damn time.

Maloney also re-grammed a post by Kyle Chan Design, who created the sparkler. The ring is a two-carat pear shape champagne diamond in 14-karat rose gold.

Now that their engagement is official, I'm sure we'll see plenty more of Schwartz's anxiety and Maloney's frustration play on the series. Flowers, caterers, music, venue — you know she's been planning this for years, and to watch Schwartz squirm under the pressure of it all will definitely make for some excellent television. Now the big question is whether Stassi will make an appearance... It could be another The Hills moment. Well, almost.
