Mike May Know A Lot About Charles On 'PLL'

Pretty Little Liars is filled with amazing 'ships, but if there's one couple that I didn't expect to see, it was Mike and Mona. Their story is pretty Romeo & Juliet, if you ask me. While the fact that Aria's younger brother was dating the original A was pretty surprising, what might actually be even more shocking is the lengths he would go to protect her. No matter what you say about Mona, she can't be that bad if the younger Montgomery fell for her so quickly. However, could Mike's love of Mona mean he knows entirely too much about this A game? I think that not only is he more involved in the mystery than he seems, but Mike might know who Charles DiLaurentis is.

Mike has always been a bit of an enigma on Pretty Little Liars. In the first few seasons, we knew him as a troubled kid. He stole from his neighbors, got into fights with other students, and eventually was able to to cope with his emotional issues and implied depression through therapy. In later seasons, he seemed like he was working really hard at getting his life back on track, which is part of the reason why he connected with Mona in the first place.

Unfortunately, connecting with Mona also means connecting with trouble. Just like with Aria and the other Liars, Mona comes with baggage of the A variety. Mike was one of the few people who knew that Mona had faked her death (or at least, planned to fake her death) before A took her, and even tried looking for her after he realized that her plan had gone terribly awry.

Mike didn't believe Mona was dead, and spent a great deal of time looking for an answer. The only person who could have given him that answer is Charles, which might mean that Mike uncovered important details about him.

Mike doesn't claim to know A, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's more to the story than he's letting on. Mike was so desperate for answers about Mona that he was doing some really shady things. Could he have gotten in touch with Charles in order to make sure that wherever Mona was, she was safe? For even more A theories, check out Bustle's PLL podcast.

It's certainly possible that Mike made a deal with the devil and spoke to Charles in order to find out information about his girlfriend. After all, would he have really settled for just knowing that she was dead at the hands of a masked tormentor? I'm not so sure. Mike may know more than he's letting on, and whatever information he's holding on to could help his sister and her friends uncover A's real identity.
