Hear The Weeknd's Stunning New Song

by Alex Kritselis

Continuing his recent hot streak, NME reports R&B singer The Weeknd debuted a new song called "Mood Music 2" during a concert near London on Tuesday — and it sounds like it could be another big hit. Unless you've been living under the sea for the past seven months (and who knows, maybe you have been — no judgment here!), you know The Weeknd is one of 2015's breakout stars (though he's been making music and impressing critics for quite some time). His sexy contribution to the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack, "Earned It," took over the radio waves earlier this year, and his latest single, "Can't Feel My Face," is close to topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart (it currently sits at No. 2). With his new album, Beauty Behind the Madness, set to premiere on Aug. 28, now is the perfect time for the 25-year-old artist to start building some additional hype.

"You bring good to my lonely life," he croons on "Mood Music 2's" opening verse, seemingly confessing his devotion to a romantic partner. "I would be nothing without your love." But when the pre-chorus arrives, he reveals he's "selfish" and "wants it all," possibly suggesting he's unable to commit. A beat drop ushers in the song's soaring chorus, and he sings: "I'm a prisoner to my addiction/I'm addicted to a life that's lonely and so cold/I'm a prisoner to my decisions/Oh-oh-ohhh, oh-oh-ohhh, oh-oh-ohhh..."

Wow. Check out the promising new cut below.

At this point, it seems like The Weeknd can do no wrong! I'm really looking forward to hearing more of his new material.
