Donald Faison On That Iconic 'Clueless' Car Scene

He made braces look cool in 1995, and probably prompted one too many men to shave their heads at parties. Now Clueless ' Murray, played by Donald Faison, is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the fan-favorite film. Faison has since starred in Remember the Titans, The Exes, and nine seasons of Scrubs as Turk. But as we remember Clueless two decades later, I have one important question: Would Murray and Dionne still be together in 2015?

"I think they'd be divorced right now," Faison says without hesitation. "I don't think he'd be able to put up with her long enough," the actor says. On a more positive note, Faison does think that the movie's protagonist and her step-brother-turned-lover would still be together today. "I think Cher and Josh would still be together," he says. So I guess there's a silver lining, right?

As for the scene that Faison says he had the most fun filming, it's probably one of the most fun scenes to watch for fans, too. Faison says that while the entire movie was fun to shoot — "It's one of my favorite movies I've ever shot," he says — "the freeway scene" is his favorite. "We didn't know what we were making that day, and it turned out to be something really funny." Faison also reveals that he assumed the scene, which was filmed on an actual freeway, would end up being cut.

Faison says that fans like to quote lines from the movie to him, but they aren't even quoting a line he said. "'It's the bomb,'" Faison says when I asked him what line he gets the most. "But I didn't say that.... Lawrence said that!" he explains. (Let us not forget that Murray is the one who insists he's "keepin' it real" when Dionne finds him getting his head shaved at the Valley party.)

As for one line that Faison remembers the most, it's this: "'I don't know where that came from. That looks like one of your stringy something or others you got up in your hair,'" he says.
