'After The Final Rose' Needs Amy Schumer

by Mallory Carra

Amy Schumer has been killing it lately. Her movie Trainwreck is a hit, her appearance on The Bachelorette earlier this season inspired an invite to be the Bachelorette. Even if she doesn't accept the invitation, Schumer needs to be on The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose on Monday night because she would totally kill it on the special, too. I mean, who better to comment on the show than the funniest and most feminist comedian out there right now? And she's definitely a fan of the show — have you seen the "Love Tub" sketch on Inside Amy Schumer ? Definitely a parody of The Bachelor.

Back in May, ABC exec Robert Mills tweeted an official invite to Schumer, "OK here is the official offer to @amyschumer to become #TheBachelorette," he tweeted. "Just say yes and we start tomorrow. #DraftAmy." And even Jennifer Lawrence recently revealed she's in support of it, too. But, Schumer revealed her reservations about it to Entertainment Tonight earlier this month. "I would tear through those guys in one sitting," Schumer joked, "The show would be over in one episode." Sure, that would most likely happen, but it would be so fun to watch, wouldn't it?

So, if we can't have Schumer as the Bachelorette, an appearance on After the Final Rose would be a solid consolation, I think. And here are 7 perfect reasons why it should happen:

1. She Totally Gets The Show

Seriously, if you haven't seen Schumer's "Love Tub" sketch, press play above. Aside from Yahoo's Burning Love, it's one of the best Bachelor parodies out there. And, since Schumer gets the show, she would be able to give such great commentary on this season.

2. She's A Feminist

In a season that has faced some feminist criticism over the two Bachelorette concept, it would be so great to have a funny and smart voice like Schumer's to give that perspective.

3. She's Sex-Positive

Schumer has already voiced her support of Kaitlyn Bristowe, after the revelation that the current Bachelorette had sex with Nick. "Oh my God, a girl dating someone for months slept with him," Schumer said with sarcastic shock on Entertainment Tonight. Kaitlyn could use another voice on her side after all the recent heat.

4. She's Not Afraid To Tell It Like It Is

During her episode in May, Schumer wasn't afraid to tell the guys they weren't funny and her takedown of JJ is pretty awesome. I would love to hear more about what she thought of the rest of this season.

5. She's Funny

I mean, duh.

6. Her Name Is Now Linked To The Show

Schumer's appearance was back in May and the media (along with Jennifer Lawrence) is still talking about her being the Bachelorette in the same breath as Trainwreck. This has to mean something.

7. She Could Say Yes To Being The Bachelorette

It would be the perfect place for Schumer to declare herself as the Bachelorette. Hey, I can still dream, right?
