She's A Dog Person
Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce's “Alleged Dog” Is Now A Reality
The couple’s new Samoyed makes her debut in the NFL player’s Tommy Hilfiger campaign.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Alleged Dog (yes, that’s what Swifties named it for fun) is now confirmed — and already being put to work. On Sept. 1, the newlyweds’ puppy made their grand debut in Kelce’s new ad campaign for Tommy Hilfiger, with Vogue affirming the Samoyed is indeed their real-life dog. According to Forbes, her name is Wendy (but that’s not official just yet).
Kelce’s new commercial for the fashion label begins with him arriving at New York’s famed Plaza Hotel, where he’s greeted by Wendy (allegedly) in his suite, who makes her presence known with some adorable whimpers. The ad campaign also stars Swift’s BFF Gigi Hadid, Jisoo, Peggy Gou, Frances Tiafoe, and Carmelo Anthony, but obviously, that’s less important.
When Vogue told Kelce that his dog was “beautiful,” the NFL player beamed in agreement. “Are you kidding me?” he asks. “She lights up my day.” While Kelce didn’t spill any details about how he and Swift got their new puppy, he did explain how she ended up in the campaign. The Hilfiger creative team had talked about casting a dog, and the couple happily volunteered their own for the job.
“We figured, why not her? She crushed it, and actually really fit into that Tommy aesthetic, too,” he said. “Those are some of my favorite shots.”
Wendy (allegedly) joins Swift’s brood of three cats: Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button, all of whom are named after her favorite fictional characters. Now that the Samoyed is officially a working dog, perhaps she’ll land enough opportunities to surpass her sister Olivia as the third-richest pet in the world.
While Kelce has not yet confirmed the dog’s name himself, if I had to guess, the couple named Wendy after the heroine of Peter Pan, which has provided Swift with lyrical inspiration. Swift first referenced the characters in her 2020 hit “cardigan,” where she likened a breakup to “Peter losing Wendy.” Then, she wrote her 2024 ballad “Peter” from Wendy’s point of view, reflecting on a childhood sweetheart who’s having a hard time growing up.
Speaking of Swift, Kelce also gave a brief comment to Forbes about their July 3 wedding at New York’s Madison Square Garden, saying “it was perfect to kind of live out childhood dreams of being in that venue and the mecca of all sports venues.” Hopefully, the dog had an adorable role in the ceremony.
