Bite Beauty's Edgy Neutrals Were Inspired By This

by Kali Borovic

In case you missed it, Bite Beauty launched four limited edition Amuse Bouche shades. All of them are considered Edgy Neutrals, and now it's clear exactly why. According to Instagram, the inspiration for these lipstick shades came from another makeup item. Odds are that you already have it in your makeup bag too.

Normally, when brands come up with new items they look at the trends for the year or which celebrities are wearing what. Well, not this time. According to Bite Beauty's Instagram, Founder of Bite Beauty Susanne Langmuir got the inspiration for the Amuse Bouche Edgy Neutrals collection from concealer. That's right! Who knew the little cover-all product could be such an inspiration for a lip line.

"I noticed girls in our studio applying concealer to their lips — and I thought this looked fresh and interested," the Instagram photo says.

How awesome is that! You can totally see the inspiration in them too. Each of the four shades looks just like a concealer. Of course, it's in a lipstick tube, which means the formula is different than your average eye product. Here's a look at all the new Edgy Neutral Amuse Bouche lipsticks, so you can see exactly what I mean.

The four shades are Portobello, Enoki, Cremini, and Porcini. They range from a golden-bronze shade to a darker caramel lippie. I'd recommend putting these Amuse Bouche formulas on your lips over concealer. The latter can dry out your lips and give a cracked look, which the lipsticks are all-natural and safe to use.

Like I said before, these four shades are limited edition though. There's no telling exactly when these lippies will be discontinued, so you should probably stock up while you can. All of them are currently available on the Sephora website for $26 each.

How's that for one of the first makeup trends of the year? I don't know about you, but I'm dying to try out these lipsticks. It's like the '90s brown from last year got an even more edgy update!
