This Could Be A Bad Sign For Fifth Harmony Fans

Considering how drama-filled this week has been for Fifth Harmony, I was hopeful that the girl group would have period of calm after all that insanity to sort things out and figure out how to proceed. I should have known. Just days after Camila Cabello's abrupt exit, and, before I've even figured out how to feel about her departure, Ally Brooke unfollowed Fifth Harmony on Instagram, according to Perez Hilton. Hoo boy, here we go. Forgive me for being defeatist, but does this mean we're could be losing Brooke next too? I can't take it.

Fifth Harmony has been a flurry of activity and statements since Sunday night, when they first dropped the bomb that Cabello was no longer a member of the group. Though the remaining four girls have exchanged multiple volleys with Cabello, I'm still not clear on whose choice it was for her to leave, or whether Fifth Harmony knew about it beforehand. The one thing they've been solid on is the fact that 5H would continue as before, with Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui as the remaining foursome.

But now I don't know what to think. In the midst of all this confusion, Ally Brooke quietly unfollowed the official Fifth Harmony account on Instagram, and fans have screenshots proving it.

What could this mean? Is Brooke leaving too? Well, anything is possible, but this isn't necessarily a Fifth Harmony death sentence. I do think that this fateful unfollow could very easily be an indication that Brooke is considering going solo, just like Cabello. However, she could also just need a little breathing room from Fifth Harmony as a group for a second. Sometimes you just don't want someone showing up in your feed; I'm sure we all get that.

After all, it's not like Brooke is taking a stand against Fifth Harmony and everything it stands for. She still follows all the rest of the Fifth Harmony girls individually, as well as Cabello herself. To unfollow the group but not its members, either current or former, makes me think that maybe she's starting to see 5H as the sum of its parts rather than a whole. I might be diving too deep into symbolism here, but Brooke might become more aware of the talents that she herself is bringing to the table. It's great to know your worth, but cross your fingers that this unfollow is no big deal and she decides to stick it out. Two losses in the same month would just be too much.

All I can hope is that they get all this drama sorted out before 5H loses even more talent; the happiness and comfort of the group is paramount, of course, but I'm also gonna be really bummed if this girl group dissolves before I get a follow-up to "Work From Home."
