It’s been a long journey, but finally Rachel Lindsay can announce who she’s been engaged to all this time during this season of The Bachelorette: Bryan Abasalo, the 37 year-old chiropractor from Miami charmed his way into her heart with his smooth talking and smooching skills. But although the point of this show is to find love, not every couple makes it out with a Happily Ever After that really lasts. So is Rachel still engaged to Bryan after The Bachelorette?

Although Rachel was contractually obligated to keep coy about who she chose to marry, she hadn't been shy about sharing her happy ending befire her entire season of The Bachelorette had aired. In fact, Rachel was the first Bachelorette in history to reveal that she was engaged before her season even began. "I am very much so in love and very much so engaged," she told E! News and other reporters during a conference call in May. "I am getting my happy ending!"

Since the show began, she hasn’t changed her tune. “I love my fiancé,” she told People at a recent Sports Illustrated event in July, saying she and her hubby-to-be had secret dates while the show was still filming. “I just saw him yesterday. We just finished having our little rendezvous. We called it Happy Couples Weekend.”

Of course, a lot of these quotes are things you’d expect to hear from the Bachelorette during her season — after all, would you admit that your relationship is on the rocks while people were watching it blossom from week to week? But now that Rachel and Bryan are allowed to be seen in public again, fans might get a better sense of how their engagement is actually faring. And just because they’re still in love a few months in doesn’t mean that it’s going to work out forever. After all, it’s not uncommon for couples on Bachelor and Bachelorette to make it all the way through the season only to break up later. Just look at how Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell recently split up after the end of their Freeform spin-off series, Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After?

Still, right now no one has any reason to suppose that Rachel and Bryan aren’t anything but happy with their decision to get engaged — although if they get their own spinoff of The Bachelorette and there’s a question mark at the end of the title, that might not be such a good sign. Best of luck, you two!
