Kel Mitchell Announces His Wife’s Pregnancy With A ‘Good Burger' Reference That '90s Kids Will Adore
In news that is going to make every '90s kid crazy, Kel Mitchell's wife is pregnant, and the couple's Instagram announcement is totally on brand. In the cutest photo shared by the actor on Tuesday, the couple donned Good Burger hats while Mitchell's wife held a bottle of orange soda. And we all know who loves orange soda, don't we? Mitchell got married to Asia Lee in 2012, and it's exciting to find out that the pair are starting a family in 2017. But I'm wondering if maybe, just maybe, their outfits are also hinting at a Good Burger reunion. Please, please tell me that the long-awaited sequel is finally on its way.
Good Burger came out in 1997, making it 20 years old this year. Mitchell has mentioned the possibility of making a Good Burger 2, and told the Brown and Scoop podcast in 2016 that he'd discussed the project with co-star Kenan Thompson. The pair even recreated Good Burger on The Tonight Show in 2015, and fans are more than ready for a sequel to happen.
Whether or not another movie happens, Mitchell and Lee's pregnancy announcement is #relationshipgoals through and through, particularly since the pair dropped their surprise on Valentine's Day. The couple's sense of humor is too cute, and their baby has already had the best introduction possible.
2017 has already seen some high-profile pregnancy announcements take place, so it's refreshing to see such a down-to-earth post from the Nickelodeon star. By completely embracing the characters he's played, Mitchell has shown how much he appreciates his fans and wants to include them on his journey.
Alongside the photo, the actor wrote, "We have a bun in the oven!" followed by a heart eyes emoji and a burger emoji for good measure. He then went on to thank his wife in the cutest way:
In my opinion, the Good Burger themed pregnancy announcement is the greatest 2017 has seen so far. Plus, every woman needs a bottle of orange soda to accessorize her pregnancy, am I right?
