Boy, time really does fly. It seems like just yesterday that we received word of the sad passing of Kim Richards' ex-husband and longtime friend, Monty Brinson. This past Wednesday, Jan. 25, marked the one year anniversary of his death and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star commemorated the sad moment by paying tribute to her former spouse in a heartwarming social media post.

As a viewer, I know that Richards and Brinson certainly shared a special relationship that was often chronicled on the Bravo reality series. Somehow, the pair, who wed in 1985 but later divorced in 1988, may have not been completely compatible during their romantic relationship. However, they managed to become simply inseparable as friends and co-parents to their daughter, Brooke. Richards even helped to care for the professional poker player in his final stages of life, serving as his sidekick and confidant before he would ultimately succumb to lung cancer at the age of 58.

At the time of his passing, Richards was understandably devastated by the loss, and it appears that she has yet to completely healed from the void. She took to Instagram to share this photo along with a sweet message to the love of her life on the anniversary of his death.

Kim captioned the side by side photo of herself and Brinson, whom she referred to as her "best friend," with an emotional message,

Missing You❤today Monty My Best Friend, I love you with all my heart & soul.I cherish each & every memory we shared.. I am definitely the most blessed girl in world to have had you in my life! I still feel your Love,Strength & Courage from above.🙏🏻Thank you for choosing me❤I love you always & forever....

The reality star often shares photos of her bestie on special occasions, such as his birthday and Father's Day. Just a few weeks after his passing last year, the former child actor shared this awesome throwback photo of herself and Brinson, showing just how much she was missing his presence,

My angel , my strength ... Knowing You are at peace gives comfort... But I miss you so much... Always my love

Brinson, a supermarket franchise heir turned poker pro, has been credited as Richards' main support system throughout her struggles with addiction and issues with the law. Needless to say, Richards and Brinson were most certainly #goals when it comes to having an amicable relationship with your ex.
