Gather round, HQties, because your favorite lightning fast quiz game has some big news for you. As Just Jared reported on Friday, HQ Trivia has made two major rule changes. (Don't worry, the adjustments to the game don't have anything to do with your beloved Quiz Daddy.) HQ Trivia's new rules have modified how the cash prizes and the extra lives work, and both switches are sure to make a lot of players very happy.

HQ Trivia, the game show app created by Vine founders Rus Yusupov and Colin Kroll, has been nothing short of a phenomenon since it hit the App Store in August 2017, and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Every day at 9 p.m. ET, a new mobile quiz show begins, and every day, scores of people jump into the fray with dreams of winning a piece of the prize pool. Business Insider reported that on Sunday, Jan. 7, over 1.2 million people logged on to play HQ Trivia during that evening’s session, which was a new record for the game.

So, what's the latest and greatest with HQ? According to Just Jared, the live quiz game will now allow anyone and everyone to cash out their winnings, no matter how much money they’ve earned playing the app. As HQ Trivia announced on Twitter on Friday, “It's payday, baby! We've removed the minimum balance required to cash out your HQ winnings. Put that money in the bank today!”

Before this new rule existed, players could only cash out if they had a balance of $20 or more in their banks, and winnings would be forfeited if they were not claimed within 90 days. As the HQ Trivia terms of service put it,

“You will need a minimum Prize balance of $20 in your account to cash-out via PayPal, a third party service.”

And:

“The winner must cash-out the Prize within 90 days after the date of notification of such Prize. A Contest winner's failure to cash-out the Prize within the specified 90 days will be considered such Contest winner's forfeiture of the Prize and Sponsor may, at its option and sole discretion, choose not to award the Prize at all. If an entrant is found to be ineligible, Sponsor may, at its option and sole discretion, choose not to award the Prize at all.”

Winning money on HQ Trivia was hard enough, and raking in enough dough to actually collect the earnings within 90 days? It seemed like a darn near impossible endeavor. But those terms are now history. Ghosts of HQ Trivia past.

And to think: If Lauren May’s viral $11.30 victory were to happen now, for example, she could actually cash it out. She’d get the joy of winning and the joy of welcoming $11.30 to her bank account. That reaction video would be next-level.

And as for the second brand new HQ Trivia rule? Players now have more freedom when it comes to using their extra lives. You know how the game would make you spend your extra life if you missed a question, whether you liked it or not? Well, from now on, you can decide if you actually want to use an extra life, or if you'd rather save it for later. So, if and when you earn some bonus lives, don't worry: You can do whatever you want with 'em.

Well, there you have it, HQties. Thanks to these two new rules, you can apply that extra life whenever your heart desires and you can take home your winnings whenever your heart desires. This is about as thrilling as being one of the 5,500 people who got an HQ question about The Hills correct.
