This year has not been kind to some of our greatest musical legends, and the world was reeling when news spread that George Michael died at the age of 53. Many friends and fans in the celebrity world have taken to social media to pay tribute to the late pop legend, including one reality star who has a very deep connection to Michael. DJ and star of Bravo's Vanderpump Rules James Kennedy posted heartbreaking posts to celebrate Michael, who he revealed on the show was his godfather.

Kennedy's father, Andros Georgiou, was very close to Michael as they both grew up in London to immigrant parents from Cyprus. Georgiou managed Wham! for some time and was managing director of Michael's record label, Ageaen Records, until 1999, according to his LinkedIn. In an interview with The Sun in 2012, Georgiou shared that the two childhood friends eventually had a falling out, and although Kennedy hasn't seen his godfather in some time, his Instagram posts to Michael following his death do prove that he was a big part of his entire family's life and that the loss is a tough one to bear.

Kennedy's first post was a sweet, honest tribute to his godfather, seemingly from a Christmas when Kennedy was just a child. In the caption he shared,

"Rest In Peace George I'm heartbroken we never got to speak again after so many years, I can't believe this has happened, please watch over me in heaven Godfather. Enjoy paradise I love you."

In a follow-up post, Kennedy instead shared a photo of his father and Michael in much happier times. He captioned the throwback photo, "Dad and Yog... 'God takes angels when he needs them'. Thank you all for your messages, bless you all. Dad, I'll be with you soon and can't wait I love you."

Regardless of what happened between the families, Michael was clearly very special to Kennedy.
