Don't Wait Up For JAY-Z At The BET Awards

The 2017 BET Awards are happening on June 25, and there is a lot to be excited about. The anticipation is slowly building with acts like Mary J. Blige, Bruno Mars and DJ Khaled set to take the big stage and Saturday Night Live cast member Leslie Jones serving as host for the festivities. As entertaining as the evening may end up being, there are two huge stars that everyone is surely hoping will be there and might actually end up bowing out. So, Beyonce will very likely not be attending this time around, but will JAY-Z be at the 2017 BET Awards?

To be fair, no official announcement either way has been made yet. But Beyonce reportedly gave birth to the couple's twins just a few days before the ceremony is going to take place. This hasn't been confirmed by the couple yet, but the theory adds to the evidence that JAY-Z probably won't be walking the carpet or attending the awards. He's not listed as a performer or a presenter. And he's only nominated in the Best Collaboration category for DJ Khaled's song "Shining," 'featuring him and his wife. Beyonce, meanwhile, is the most nominated artist this year with five nods.

JAY-Z and Beyonce be basking in their new babies right now, or it's possible that they're still waiting for the moment to arrive. Whatever the current status, an award show is probably not either of their biggest priorities right now. If the timing were different, JAY-Z might be performing or presenting at the BET Awards to promote his rumored upcoming album, 4:44.

Even without the first couple of music in attendance, there's a lot to look forward to at the 2017 BET Awards. And the night may even include both of them winning awards in absentia.
