Amanda Ross

Amanda Ross was TZR’s Beauty Editor, and primarily focused on everything news — industry innovations, celebrity happenings, fresh product launches, and live event coverage were all in her day-to-day wheelhouse. A pop culture devotee, she loves exploring beauty's often-underplayed role in music, television, and film.

After studying Journalism and Geography at Texas State University, Amanda moved to New York City in 2014 to write professionally. She started in print, spending time at NYLON and then Avenue Magazine as an Associate Editor before transitioning into the digital world, even breaking from editorial for a stint in public relations. Her work has appeared in Bustle, BuzzFeed, Austin Monthly, and Byrdie, where she was a news writer for two years. Amanda joined the TZR team in 2021 as a part-time writer, taking on the Beauty Editor role in September 2022. In her years in the beauty space, Amanda's interviewed industry experts and celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, and Jenna Ortega, as well as the creative minds behind hair and makeup for Insecure, The White Lotus, Bridgerton, and more. Along with her editorial writing, she has experience in branded content and media consulting.

These days, Amanda lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and cat. When she's not working, she loves multi-colored manicures, arguing about pop stars with her friends, and chilling on any/every shaded restaurant patio in town.
