11 Of Maddie Ziegler's Best Hair & Makeup Looks
Maddie Ziegler is only 12 years old, but she's already made a name for herself in the dance, television, and modeling industries — not to mention that she's best friends with British songstress Sia. Even with all that on her plate, though, I wouldn't be surprised if Maddie Ziegler's best looks (both her hair and makeup ones) were added to her resume to demonstrate her killer sartorial skills. She always looks fresh faced and stunning, after all, often reminding us to be unafraid of rocking our own natural hair and makeup.
When I was 12, there was no such thing as too much glitter or too much lip gloss in my book. I would over-do every single product I had in my makeup bag, and look absolutely terrifying by the time I was done. This is probably why I think Ziegler's refined, polished look is so impressive. Even though she is a tween, she never looks uncomfortable or awkward in too much product. Knowing you're allowed to embrace your natural beauty is an important lesson to learn, after all, and one many of us struggle with way past 12.
So here are 11 of Maddie Ziegler's best hair and makeup looks. Even though she's only 12, we can all be inspired by this adorable star.
1. The Killer Bun
When you think of awards show hair, you probably think of super tailored, done up styles that require a ton of hairspray to keep in tact. Ziegler's look for the 2015 Teen Choice Awards was anything but. She wore her locks in a simple bun at the back of her head, leaving out a few strands to frame her face. The look was natural and pretty and ultimately an A+.
2. Being Mini Sia
If dancing in Sia's "Chandelier" music video wasn't cool enough, Ziegler also performed with her on stage at the 2015 Grammy's, and she did it dressed up in a matching wig, ensemble, and even tattoos. While I might be hesitant to try out the Sia look myself, you have to give Ziegler mad props for totally owning it.
3. Going Game Of Thrones On Us
I really wish I knew how to recreate Ziegler's braided crown, but I would have no idea where to start considering its flawless intricacy.
4. Killing The Red Lipstick Game
Many of us love to play with makeup, and I certainly had a lot of play time with cosmetics when I was Ziegler's age. Her thick eyeliner and red lipstick are obviously flawless, and serve as a reminder that it's always fun to experiment with products and see what new looks you can create.
5. Nailing The Slick Ponytail
You might think that a ponytail would be an easy look to create, but in reality, it's a struggle. Ziegler seems to have no trouble with it at all, though. She rocks the style like a pro, with her long, light brown strands perfectly framing her face in a high pony. If your hair is long enough to wrap a strand of it around your hair band, you can rock it too.
6. Smiling Sweetly
Ziegler recently made her runway debut at the Polo Ralph Lauren show in Aug. 2015, where she strutted down the runway in this blue plaid number. While the dress is adorable, her smile definitely stole the show. From my experience, it's rare to see models smile on runways, but Ziegler's wide grin is both amusing and adorable.
7. The Messy Braid
Ahh, the elusive messy braid that usually seems too good to be true. You don't know how many times I have tried to create a simple, slightly messy braid only to fail and grow depressed. Here, Ziegler gives us a modern take on the look and it 100 percent suits her.
8. Pretty In Naturals
Ziegler's warm weather look is just precious. I absolutely love the seafoam green hue of her turtleneck (so on trend). She's owning a simple makeup look as well, seemingly opting only for lightly glossed lips and mascaraed lashes because sometimes less really is more.
9. The Side Ponytail
Ziegler is rocking a basic side ponytail with the addition of a pretty braid holding it all together. The look is different and oh-so-precious.
10. Totes Fresh-Faced
Arguably my favorite makeup look on Ziegler is the no-makeup look. While I love her creativity with cosmetics, sometimes I think it's better for 12-year-olds not to have to worry about whether their winged eyeliner is perfectly symmetrical.
11. The Perfect Waves
So many of us struggle to get those picture perfect, just-hopped-out-of-the-beach waves, but it seems like Ziegler's got them down pat.
Whether she's wearing a face full of makeup or none at all, we could all definitely take some fashion and beauty inspo from Maddie Ziegler. She's already learned the most important lesson of all when it comes to style: Have fun, take risks, but always stay true to yourself.
