'BiP's Juelia Is Way Too Relatable

by Jennifer Still

Admittedly, I don't actually watch Bachelor In Paradise because I think I'll relate to it in any way. I'm married, so I'm not on the lookout for love, and even if I was, I don't particularly understand the mentality of looking for it on a reality TV show which, historically, hasn't done too great of a job in finding couples that stay together. Nevertheless, there are some great ladies (and guys) at the villa that I could totally see myself hanging with in real life, and I actually have found some common ground with a few of them, as well. Like, I totally relate to Juelia from Bachelor In Paradise . Our lives couldn't be more different, really. I'm not a single mother or a widow, and I'm not after Mr. Right, but I still find so similarities between us at times that it's scary.

I'm not sure why I've connected with Juelia more than any of the other girls on BiP this season. Maybe it's because she's just so genuine and earnest and really wants to find love, and I find that endearing. Whatever the reason, I can't deny that I don't find myself thinking, "Ugh, girl, me too!" at least once per episode, but generally more, and you know you're the same. Here are 7 times you know you were totally Juelia.

When You Believed The Jerk Was Okay

Juelia really believed that Joe liked her and that they had a connection. Sure, he was a great actor, but we've all been guilty of having the wool pulled over our eyes by a jerk that wasn't worth our time, right? At the end of the day, we ended up learning our lesson the hard way, just like Juelia did with Joe. It happens, girl.

When You Regretted Rejecting The Nice Guy

When Juelia gave Joe her rose and sent Mikey T. packing, she totally regretted that decision, especially when she realized she'd been duped by Joe, who had no intention of pursuing things with her. Thankfully, she got a second chance with Mikey, but who hasn't been in her shoes before? How many times have you totally blown off the nice guy in favor of chasing after someone who would only end up hurting you, only to seriously wish you'd done things differently down the line? Way too relatable.

When You Just Wanted To Be Loved

At the end of the day, Juelia just wants to find someone to share her life with, and what's wrong with that? We all want companionship and someone to go through the ups and downs with, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's human nature, and Juelia doesn't want to deal with the years ahead on her own. Who does?

When You Decided To Put Yourself Out There After Having Your Heart Broken

Juelia has dealt with incredible heartbreak in her life, especially after losing her husband while still in her 20s and with a young child to raise. Despite this, she's insisted on bouncing back and is still open to finding love. We've all been dumped or had our hearts broken, but it's about picking yourself up and putting yourself out there again because you believe love is possible.

When You Put Your Family First

Juelia might be going on dates and trying to find a romantic partner, but much of her inspiration from this comes from the fact that she wants a good father for her daughter. At the end of the day, she's a mom first, and she knows her child has to come first in everything. That responsibility isn't far from her mind, ever, and it's something we all know really well, whether or not we have kids.

When You Were Screwed Over By Someone You Thought Was Your Friend

Juelia thought Samantha was one of her really good friends — they've even gone on vacation together! — so imagine her shock when she realized that Sammi had actually been in on Joe's plan to screw her over! Awful, but we've all been there. Finding out you've been betrayed by someone you thought was your friend is painful, but it's just a fact of life, unfortunately.

When You Finally Let Yourself Be Happy

Now that Mikey's back, Juelia has had the chance to go on a fun date with a nice guy and just enjoy herself — an experience she's more than earned at this point. We all know what it's like to be in the midst of so much stress and drama, but the best feeling ever is when you finally say, "Forget about it!" and get out there and enjoy your life.

I bet you'd never thought before about just how relatable Juelia actually is, and now that I've pointed it out, you'll never be able to forget it. It's pretty great, huh?
