What It'll Cost You To Meet Anna Wintour
Ever wanted to know what Anna Wintour is really like, and if The Devil Wears Prada was actually exaggerating? Well, you're in luck, because here's how to meet Anna Wintour: by participating in an online auction to win a chance to be introduced to Anna herself and tour the Vogue offices for $25,000. You know, chump change.
While currently, the highest bid is $14,500, according to YahooStyle, the website, CharityBuzz, actually estimates that the experience is worth that $25,000. Either way, not really in my budget. If it happens to be in yours, Mazel Tov!
If you're not familiar with CharityBuzz, it's actually an auction website that provides luxury experiences for cash. Though it's a pretty big sum of money, it actually goes to a slew of philanthropic causes, according to YahooStyle. So where will the money go for this particular auction? Towards the United States Tennis Association Foundation, which has a mission of using the sport to change people's lives.
Tennis and fashion have been linked since the get-go, and this seems especially fitting after Tommy Hilfiger named Rafael Nadal a brand ambassador. Vogue especially has been a fan of tennis stars, putting Maria Sharapova, both Williams sisters, Roger Federer, and other notable tennis figures in the pages of the iconic magazine. It only makes sense that the charity of choice is linked to the sport.
The winning bidder doesn't get to just meet Anna and tour the offices at 1 World Trade Center, though. According to YahooStyle, the winner gets "Vera Wang clothes, a Michael Kors bag, a Serena Williams-signed copy of the magazine, Irene Neuwirth earrings — and tickets to a runway show, as well as a tour around the office and the fashion closet." That's a lot of freebies (though technically, I guess you're paying for it....)!
The most insider experience, though, is the chance to be on set for a photo shoot. Pretty cool! While there are documentaries that capture this type of experience, I'm sure the energy and ambience of being on set is indescribable in person. Who knows, maybe the winner will actually get to see another Louboutin heel break down Condé Nast's escalators. Now that would definitely make it worth $25,000.
