6 Things That Are Way Better In The Fall — Because Summer Doesn't Have A Monopoly On Awesomeness
Alright, so there's really no denying the fact that the end of summer can be a definite buzzkill. But, that doesn't mean that autumn doesn't give us anything that we can look forward to and enjoy. After all, so many things actually get better in the fall.
Yes, you need to kiss your long, lazy days at the beach goodbye, and you can wave farewell to wearing white after Labor Day (supposedly). But, you can also say "so long" to nasty humidity and that pesky swimsuit anxiety. And, just think of all the wonderful things that fall has to offer in return. From football season and pumpkin spiced everything to scarves and turkey dinners, autumn boasts its fair share of things that we all love.
Still not convinced that you can let go of the sadness associated with seeing the summer season come to a close? Don't spiral into a depression just yet, my melancholy friends. I've pulled together this list of six things that are way more amazing in the fall to help lift your spirits, and give you some much needed optimism about the season ahead.
Just don't ever ask me to help you look forward to winter. That's impossible.
1. Your wardrobe
By now, we're all sick of wearing the same shorts and sandals. Finally being able to wear all of your sweaters, boots, and scarves? It feels like you're opening up an entirely new closet! Your wardrobe options suddenly seem limitless — at least for a week or so.
2. Your coffee order
We're totally over iced coffee, smoothies, and juices. Bring on the comforting flavors of cinnamon, chocolate, and — of course — pumpkin! Whether you want a warm hot chocolate or pumpkin in your latte, your coffee order improves by leaps and bounds in the fall.
Sure, there are candle scents that are more suited for summer. But, it seems a little counterintuitive to light one when it's miserably hot outside. Luckily, fall is the perfect time to burn your favorite cozy scents, and curl up with a good book.
Of course, fall brings back all of your favorite TV shows — finally! Whether you're looking forward to the premiere of Scandal or The Mindy Project, autumn definitely takes your evening entertainment to the next level. So long, you pesky reruns and endless episodes of Cops.
5. Your hair
Let's be honest — humidity is nobody's friend. Luckily, fall marks the end of your daily battle with incessant frizz. Plus, it's the perfect time to book a hair appointment, and experiment a little with your cut and color!
6. The weather
Yes, the summer heat is nice — for a minute. But, it doesn't take long before you're sweating profusely and hightailing it back to air conditioning. I'll take the crisp, refreshing air of fall any day!
