The 7 Best Sex Positions For Flexible People

We’re always hearing that we could be having better sex, a better orgasm, or a better relationship. But how often do we hear the nitty-gritty of how we can actually better understand our deepest desires and most embarrassing questions? Bustle has enlisted Vanessa Marin, a sex therapist, to help us out with the details. No gender, sexual orientation, or question is off-limits, and all questions remain anonymous. Now, onto today’s topic: the best sex positions for flexible and strong people.

Q: I’m sleeping with a guy I met in yoga class, and let’s just say we’ve been having fun getting more flexible together! What are some fun, unusual sex positions we could try? He's pretty strong too, and I want to take advantage of it.

A: Thanks for the question! Trying out new positions is one of the most fun aspects of sex, and being flexible certainly does open up a whole new world of possibilities. Here are seven great positions for people who have been putting in some extra time at the gym. (Note: these positions have been depicted and described here using a man and a woman, but two women could certainly enjoy all of these positions using a strap-on.)

1. The Ankle Choker

How to do it: Start off in Missionary. Prop up your knees so your feet are resting on the bed. Have your guy slowly start to sit up and raise up on his knees. Raise your hips up into bridge pose so he stays inside of you. He can also help by holding on under your hips. Slowly raise one leg up and rest it on his shoulder, then repeat with your other leg. Depending on your height differences, you can inch your ankles further up his shoulders, or he can use his hands to raise your pelvis up higher. From there, you hang on for the ride while he pushes in and out of you.

Why it’s fun: This is a great position for hitting your G-spot. Having your legs together will create an enticingly full feeling. You can squeeze a hand between your thighs for some additional clitoral stimulation. You’ll be almost entirely upside down, which is pretty novel. Plus, you’ll get a nice hamstring and calf stretch in the process!

2. The Advanced Crab Walk

How to do it: Have him sit down with his arms propped behind him. Slowly lower yourself onto him, straddling his hips. Lean back so that your weight is resting on your hands. One at a time, pull your legs up to rest on his shoulders. You can’t thrust that much, so you’ll have to focus more on rocking or grinding against each other. You can use your ankles for some extra leverage.

Why it’s fun: This position is a good slow burner since there’s a limited range of movement. Having your legs close together can make for a nice tight fit. Both of you will get a super hot view of him sliding in and out of you.

3. The Seated Backbend

How to do it: Have him sit up. Lower yourself onto him, putting one knee on either side of his body. Slowly start to lean backwards into a backbend. You can have him hold your hips to guide your movement. You can lay on your upper back, or prop yourself up on your forearms. Focus on rocking against each other, or grinding your hips in slow circles. Either you or he can reach down and rub your clitoris.

Why it’s fun: This is another position that’s a nice, slow tease. It can also be quite intimate, since he can touch all over your body. He can pay particular attention to your clitoris, since it will be front and center for him.

4. The Bouncing Reverse Cowgirl

How to do it: Have him lay down on the end of the bed, with his legs draped over the edge and feet flat on the ground. Stand between his legs, facing the same direction as he is. Lower yourself onto him. You’re in complete control during this position. You can bob up and down on his penis, or grind in circles.

Why it’s fun: This is a very versatile position. You can sit in between his legs, or put your legs outside of his. You can lean forwards or backwards to change the angle of penetration. Having your feet flat on the ground gives you much more leverage and control than the usual woman-on-top positions where you’re on your knees. You can easily stroke your clitoris, and he can easily stimulate your anus.

5. The Splitter

How to do it: Lie on your side, and raise one leg into the air. Have him straddle the leg that’s lying on the bed and scoot forward until he penetrates you. You can rest the leg that’s in the air on his shoulder, or he can hold onto it for leverage. He thrusts in and out of you.

Why it’s fun: This is a really sexy position that will make you feel grateful for all that yoga splits practice! This position can create very deep, intense stimulation. Either one of you can give your clitoris some extra stimulation.

6. The Plow

How to do it: Start off in Missionary. Have him sit up for a moment so you can pull your legs back up into the air and rest your shoulders on his ankles. He can slowly lower himself towards you. How far he can go depends on your flexibility. Once you’re into position, he thrusts as he normally would in Missionary.

Why it’s fun: This is a powerful, animalistic position with very deep penetration. You’ll feel totally engulfed by him.

7. Standing Rear-Entry

How to do it: Have him stand behind you. Spread your legs and bend over a bit to make it easier for him to penetrate you. Once he’s inside, bring your legs closer together and bend over all the way. See if you can get your hands flat on the ground (or on a yoga block) for some extra leverage. He can hold your hips for leverage as he thrusts in and out of you. This one works best for couples that don’t have much height difference, but you can use a stool or a stair to make it work.

Why it’s fun: Any rear-entry position is great for G-spot stimulation. The fact that he’s standing will give him great leverage for intense, powerful thrusting. Having your legs close together will create a super tight fit. This is another position where you’ll get a good stretch!
