Which 'Married At First Sight' Couples Are Still Together? The Show's Success Rate For Love Isn't Great
I'm a sucker for reality shows, especially the kind where people do crazy things for love, so naturally, when I discovered Married At First Sight , I was useless for an entire week. All I wanted to do was watch these people as they married total strangers they met for the first time at the altar, and while my brain knew it was insane to expect things to work out, my heart wanted the show to prove my brain wrong. But, unsurprisingly, being married at first sight doesn't always yield the best results. And, now that it's been almost two years since the first set of brave strangers participated in the experiment, where are they today? Are the Married At First Sight couples still together?
I have good news and bad news for you: Out of all six couples who have participated so far, only two of them have created marriages that have made it. It's a difficult thing to create a life with someone who is virtually a stranger — and even harder to stay committed to that person and your relationship when it's such a new thing. It's a crazy concept, but the experts do know what they're doing. Sometimes, though, even with the best intentions, it just doesn't work out.
So, who's together and who's already split? This is about to be an emotional rollercoaster.
1. Doug & Jamie
If you follow Jamie on Instagram, you already know that they're still together — and coming back for a second season of Married At First Sight. Although Jamie has admitted that they've experienced some serious ups and downs as a couple in recent months, it looks like the love is still there between them. Who would have guessed this based on their disastrous first meeting?!
2. Cortney & Jason
Even though they were two of the youngest participants — Cortney was 26 and Jason was 27 when they tied the knot — and have definitely encountered some obstacles over the past two years, they're still together and supporting each other's adventures as usual.
3. Monet & Vaughn
Monet and Vaughn fought constantly after they were married, so it wasn't too much of a shock that they decided not to remain married at the end of the six week trial period. It's also not shocking that they're not together now, and as far as Monet's Instagram tells us, she's still a single lady. And, what about Vaughn? Looks like he's enjoying the single life, too.
4. Jessica & Ryan D.
Even though they decided to stick it out when Season 2 ended, shortly after filming the reunion special, Jessica filed for a restraining order against Ryan, so yeah, that's not a thing anymore. And, according to social media? Neither of them seem to be dating anyone.
5. Jaclyn & Ryan R.
More bad news. Although Jaclyn and Ryan decided to try to make their marriage work after the experiment ended, they split not long after. Judging by her Instagram posts, it seemed like Jaclyn wasn't into the way that Ryan was intimidated by her "strong personality," and that is something I cannot blame her for. Live as loud as you want, girlfriend!
6. Davina & Sean
They decided to split at the end of the experiment when they butted heads far too frequently on the show... and neither of them could agree on where they wanted to live, either. These days, Davina seems single and Sean shows no signs of any special ladies in his life, either. Bummer.
But, at least when Married at First Sight: The First Year returns on Tuesday, we'll get to catch up with the couples that are still living happily ever after.
