Um, This Mini-Marty McFly Has His Own DeLorean

Great Scott! If my calculations are correct, it is now precisely October 21, 2015, aka Back To The Future Day, aka the day that Marty McFly visits in what was the future in 1989, when Back to the Future 2 came out. Many incorrect dates have circulated online (perhaps the perpetrators lived in towns with broken clock towers?) about this momentous occasion, but rest assured that today is the actual date.

If you’re anything like me (I may or may not be wearing a puffy vest as we speak), you'll agree that this date is worth celebrating. So far, I’ve considered honoring the date by buying some Calvin Klein underwear, listening to “Johnny B. Goode” on repeat, and getting two new dogs so that I can name them Biff and Griff Tannen. (Update: My partner says no. Debates will continue.)

However, the reason that I’ve yet to actually cross any of these very important tasks off my to-do list is because I’ve been too wrapped up in this glorious photo series featuring an adorable kiddo named Cooper dressed as Marty McFly, and riding in a child-sized DeLorean. Yes, you heard me right. a child-sized DeLorean. Cooper’s photo shoot took place back in 2012, but let’s be real: We’re talking about time travel so it’s just as awesome today as it was the day it happened. Allow me to show you what I mean:

No wonder Cooper's smiling—he's in arguably the cutest photo ever.

Notice how the wheels are raised and sideways, just like a ~real~ time-traveling car that flies.

The rear view offers some new details for us to appreciate.

It's cool, Cooper. No one knows what to do with our hands when we're time traveling, either.

If the fate of time travel is in Cooper's hands, I'm cool with it.

Perhaps the creatives behind BTTF2 knew what they were doing 26 years ago, planning this date in advance and placing it close enough to Halloween that we can all take our cosplay to the next level. The geniuses behind Cooper’s amazing ensemble (his parents) have also told me that a new costume will be unveiled this year, too.
