Most People Use This Hand To Watch Porn On Mobile

by Kristine Fellizar

Ever wonder exactly how people watch porn on their phones? Do they hold their phone in their right hand or their left? According to the latest in the world of Pornhub surveys, the results are pretty mixed. The company asked its users this simple question: What hand do you use to hold your phone on Pornhub? The choices were “Left,” “Right,” or “I switch it up.”

The results found that 42 percent said they hold their phones in their left, 32 percent hold it in their right, and 26 percent switch it up.

As Pornhub’s Vice President, Corey Price, told Maxim, “We intend to use the survey to help guide us in our UI [User Interface] decisions moving forward. With this specific question, we would like to know which hand people use to peruse Pornhub with so we can adjust the positioning of our buttons accordingly. The easier, the better, especially when it comes to mobile."

Only 10 percent of the general population are lefties. So, it’s interesting to see which hand people use to go to town on their own fun parts. I mean, does the dominant hand really make for optimal masturbation? Then I realize, that we probably don’t care. It’s just another one of those things to think about.

Pornhub claims to hit about 50 million visitors daily, which if you think about it, is no real surprise. People do like their porn. Because they’re one of the biggest porn sites around, they like to enlighten us with the latest and greatest on peoples’ porn-viewing habits. With that, here are five facts you should know about porn viewing.

1. Android Versus iOS

According to a September Pornhub report, 60 percent of traffic comes from mobile devices. Because of that, Pornhub gathered data on traffic shares between iOS devices and Androids. On average, Android users spend a little over 10 minutes per visit, and view about 11 different pages. On the other hand, iOS users spend almost nine minutes on Pornhub per visit, and view an average of 10 pages. The type of porn they view also differed.

2. What Women Want

In Pornhub’s July 2015 report “What Women Want,” they found that the most often searched for term by women was “lesbian,” followed far behind by “threesome,” and “squirt”.

3. Millennials And Porn

According to a July 2015 report from Pornhub, millennials actually make up about 60 percent of the site’s users worldwide.

The most popular day of the week to get their porn viewing in is Monday, while the least popular day is Saturday. Millennials also tend to watch porn between 11 p.m. and midnight.

4. Sex With Weed

Plenty of research has been done lately on the relationship between sex and weed. A Pornhub report earlier this year found that the people of Vermont search for marijuana-related porn about 41 percent more than the average state. Weed-friendly Colorado follows second at 23 percent, followed by New Hampshire, Washington, and Rhode Island. That’s not really surprising considering that marijuana porn is searched 14 percent more in states where it’s totally legal to have it.

The two most often combined terms when it comes to searching for smoking porn are “smoking sex” and “smoking fetish.”

5. A Lot Of People Watch Porn Regularly

According to recent Pornhub statistics, about 40 million people in the U.S. regularly watch porn. In 1978, less than one percent of American homes had VCRs, however 75 percent of VHS tapes sold were pornographic. But it’s no surprise that video porn sales today have gone down. I mean who really needs DVDs when you have Google or Tumblr or even Tinder, if personalized dick pics are your thing.
