Don't Miss Out On 'Hocus Pocus' This Halloween

I think we can all agree that Halloween is hands down one of the best times of the year. Not only is it socially acceptable to dress up in outrageous costumes, but you also get an excuse to gorge on candy without shame. (Tis the season, right?) Yes, there are many beloved Halloween traditions out there that I hold near and dear to my heart. However, there is one that I believe truly outranks them all, and that's watching Hocus Pocus for what has to be the one thousandth time by now. But that's the beauty of this movie. No matter how many times I watch it, it never gets old. Like a fine potion, I mean, wine, Hocus Pocus has proven to only get better with age.

Suffice to say, it isn't truly Halloween until you've allowed our beloved Sanderson Sisters to put a spell on you once again. The only question that remains is — how can one go about doing so? Because, undoubtedly, there are some of you out there who have yet to own an actual DVD copy of this Halloween classic. (A huge mistake IMO.) But even if this isn't something that you own outright, don't worry. There are still plenty of opportunities available for you to get your annual Max and Thackery Binx fix.

Now, for reasons that I certainly can't explain, Netflix has yet to add Hocus Pocus to its streaming venue. (I know, it's crazy, right?) These ladies know what I'm talking about…

The same goes for Hulu and HBO Go. So unfortunately, the fate of your viewing rests almost solely on regularly scheduled programming. But thanks to ABC Family's 13 Nights of Halloween, that's not really an issue. The network makes a point of providing multiple airings of this holiday favorite throughout the course of the Halloween season. Even with only a few days left, you still have at least five opportunities to watch the film — two of which will be on Halloween itself. It's just a matter of knowing the dates and times these viewings will occur, which is why I've taken the liberty of listing out the final few airings:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. (EST)
  • Friday, Oct. 30 at 12 a.m. (EST)
  • Friday, Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m. (EST)
  • Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. (EST)
  • Saturday, Oct. 31 at 9:15 p.m. (EST)

So unless you have a seriously crazy schedule over the next couple of days, odds are you should be able to spare a few magical hours with Winifred, Sarah, and Mary. And if you have a DVR then even better! It'll give you plenty to work on your choreography to "I Put a Spell on You" for next year. And, if you think about it, there's really no better way you could be spending your time. Now once more with feeling!
