Back when I was in third grade, trading Pokémon cards was everybody's go-to hobby on the playground. Plus, I was the proud owner of a Game Boy Color, where I'd try my best to "catch 'em all." Although some '90s trends have faded over the years (like Tamagotchis and oversized scrunchies), others have stood the test of time — Pokémon included. Although I'm no longer a fan myself, plenty of kids are still incredibly enthusiastic about the franchise. Apparently Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick's oldest son is no exception. On Sunday, Kourtney shared a photo of Mason Disick playing with Pikachu and an Ash Ketchum lookalike in their backyard.
While Kourtney's family superhero costumes totally stole the show on Halloween, this may be her best parenting moment yet. Mason turns 6-years-old on Monday (and even shares a birthday with baby brother Reign). Chances are this was all part of an extravagant birthday weekend. What kid doesn't want to hang out with his favorite Pokémon characters?
To make the entire situation even better, Mason is wearing a Pikachu hoodie — with ears and all. He's even holding a Poké Ball and looks ready to throw it at any moment. It's absolutely adorable! I wonder if Penelope donned a Misty costume or dressed up like Squirtle. Reign would have made a ridiculously cute Togepi.
This isn't the first time that Kourtney nailed the whole parenting thing. Here's a round-up of other awesome family moments.
1. Reading How The Grinch Stole Christmas
That book is a true holiday classic. Also, the matching plaid PJs are perfect.
2. Saving The World
As mentioned earlier, their superhero costumes were on a whole other level of greatness.
3. Meeting Mermaids
Little Penelope and her cousin North West had the chance to hang out with mermaids.
4. Exploring The Outdoors
Here's Kourtney and Reign hanging out in Yellowstone. He looks thrilled to be there (or as excited as any infant actually can be).
5. Teepee Parties
Not sure what exactly is happening here, but it looks like a fun-filled party. Just look at those Ninja Turtle and Scooby Doo stuffed animals!
6. Visiting Disney
For Penelope's birthday, Kourtney and her daughter wore matching Tinkerbell outfits. Then she ate a gigantic ice cream sundae. Sounds like my kind of party.
All in all, this family is super precious. And I must admit, I'm sincerely jealous of Mason for getting to bond with Pikachu.
