Is 'Kris' Done For Good?

by Kristie Rohwedder

So much for my "Kris Jenner interviews Kim Kardashian and Kanye West the day before their wedding" dreams. Kris, the Kris Jenner talk show, will not grace our television sets this year. Wait. Kris wasn't already cancelled? Huh. Suck it, Friday, I'm learning stuff! According to TheWrap, the show won't go in 2014, but Fox might bring Kris back in 2015. They've put a pin in it, not a nail. Interesting. Kris made its debut/trial run during the summer of 2013. Almost immediately, many speculated the show was cancelled, but the status of Kris remained uncertain. As of today, its fate is still a little unclear, but it's less foggy than before.

I don't know why the station doesn't want the show now but possibly wants it next year. I don't know how these things work, nor am I detective. But you know what? A postponed show is better than a canned show. I think? Again, I don't know how these things work.

I do have questions. Namely, does Jenner keep a journal? She could. And on a day like this, she might write an entry that's intended for her future self to read. It might go a little something like this:

January 17, 2014

Dear 2015 Kris,

Hi. Kris of Jan. 2014 here. I do hope you are well, 2015 Kris. Things were… interesting in 2013 and continue to be interesting in 2014. I'll cut right to the chase: I kind of sort of lost Kris. I'm not sure how things will play out in 2015, but there are rumors that you could get the talk show back. I'm rooting for you. I'm sorry if anything I did prevented you from winning it back. I can't think of anything in particular, but I'm issuing a preemptive blanket apology.

However, I don't think that apology will be necessary. You see, I'm a positive person, so I can't help but be positive about this. Wait, why am I telling you? You know I'm a positive person because you and I are the same person. Anyway, I'm going to assume the show is yours. You've got this. I'm sure things are going swimmingly for you. You're Kristen Mary Jenner. Things go swimmingly for you.

But just in case you're feeling low for any reason at all...

Keep doing what you do. I believe in you. You believe in you. Show or no show, I'm proud of you. (Psh, I'm confident you got the show.)

Love,

2014 Kris

Wow. So moving. So inspirational.
