Kimberly Perry Broke The Mold At Miss Universe

by Eliza Florendo

There's no doubt that there are some stunning looks to be seen at the Miss Universe 2015 pageant, from gorgeous evening gowns to cute bikinis to national costumes. But perhaps the cutest of the Dec. 20 event was Kimberly Perry at the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant, who gave "pretty in pink" a whole new meaning, rocking fuchsia co-ords and giving us a much-needed breath from all the flowy gowns.

Don't get me wrong: I'm living and dying for the evening gown portion right now. Especially for Miss USA's gorgeous lace dress with a cape. Yep, a cape. And Miss Universe Curaçao's red dress, complete with a feathered bottom. She basically looked like the dancing emoji. Major props to Miss Universe Philippines' royal blue gown with an embellished back and puffy train as well. The bottom line is that there is rarely a lack of stunning ensembles during this competition.

But amid the glitz and glamour, it's refreshing to see something so simply cute. Like Miss Universe Thailand's national costume that won via fan votes, and now, Kimberly Perry's adorable matching pant and crop top combination. Performing on stage with the rest of her band, The Band Perry, she looked achingly adorable in her modern get-up.

In high-waisted flared trousers and a strapless crop with a ruffle, Perry pulled off the perfect mix of edgy, fun, and sexy. For such a formal event, this look was definitely unexpected, but in the best way possible. The adorable get-up reminded me of a piece of Bubble Tape. And who doesn't love bubble tape?

It seems like Perry is a bit of a funny gal, too! Before getting on stage, she posted this silly photo of herself posing in front of a mirror. Double the trouble? Nah, double the Kimberly Perry is always a good thing.

Her fans are taking to Twitter to express their über love for her as well.

Looks like Perry may just win Miss Universe 2015 from fan votes, unofficially. That still counts, right? Either way, she has my vote for best dressed. Who doesn't love a little fun edge?
