J. Law's Oscars Dress Is Dior Perfection

If there's one truth most of us knew leading up to the Feb. 28 Academy Awards, it was the affirmation that Jennifer Lawrence at the 2016 Oscars was bound to be wearing some Dior. Not until 2017 will Lawrence's three-year contract with Dior be up, so it's looking like we can expect to see a lot more modern sartorial glam in her public appearances for a while yet.

J. Law is no stranger to the Oscars red carpet. Her first appearance came in 2011, when she received a Best Actress nomination for her role in Winter's Bone. She was also rocking a Calvin Klein slip gown that looked so '90s I don't think there was a single Millennial viewer who didn't swoon a little.

Only two years later, she was back. And this time, she took the 2013 Best Actress Oscar for her role in Silver Linings Playbook. For 2016, Lawrence is back and nominated for the same award yet again, for her performance in Joy. It's an occasion she chose to celebrate with the help of a feathered gown with a tight bodice, nude and black overlays, and an easy bob. I'm definitely a fan.

Lawrence is probably one of the most reliable red carpet personalities of the moment. She's always elegant, but a little whimsical. She's always classic, but a little experimental. In a gown that looks like it belongs in an even vampier version of Black Swan, the same is clearly true.

See? She is whimsy and gloriously elegant all at once.

Her smoky eye and nude lip were the perfect compliments to this dress, might I add. A dress I personally hope goes down in Oscars history for all of eternity.
