Tess Holliday's Clothing Collection Is Plus Only
Following the launch of Tess Holliday's clothing collection MBLM by Tess Holliday in collaboration with Canadian plus size retailer Penningtons, many fans have been left with the questions that we ask of every plus size clothing line. Is is affordable? Is it well made? And, perhaps most importantly, will it actually fit me?
Before Tess Holliday stole the scene with her self-love inspiration and #EffYourBeautyStandards activism, much of the fashion world's interpretation of "plus size" came in at vaguely curvy, with minimal representation for women above a size 18 (let alone above a size 22). When news of her upcoming collection surfaced in January, it made sense that plus size women would be the primary demographic.
Now that the line has dropped, it's clear that Holliday made her clothing line not just with herself in mind, but with her fans in mind as well. As Penningtons put it on its website, "Her unapologetic advocacy for self-acceptance and empowerment are reflected in this new collection with edgy designs and versatile pieces. Rocker-vibe looks get revamped with feminine touches for unique style and attitude."
Unfortunately for all straight size fans of Holliday's, this collection starts at an XL and goes up to a 5XL, or approximately 14 to 32, making it exclusively plus size.

The Penningtons website comes with a handy size conversion chart to explain its methods further. An XL converts to a size 14, while a 1X is sizes 16/18, a 2X comes in at 20/22, a 3X is 24/26, a 4X is a 28, and a 5X covers sizes 30/32.

Considering so many supposedly plus clothing collections stop at sizes 20 or 22, this is a wide range that is inclusive of many folks in the plus size community. Not only is Holliday's collection affordable — ranging in prices from $46 to $95 — but pretty conscious of the diversity and size spectrum of fat bodies. Holliday has taken the time to work with a brand that seems to care and cater to plus size needs, and that's important. Plus, not only does the MBLM collection tick the boxes for both size inclusivity and price, but the collection also kills it in terms of style, too.

The only item unavailable in the full size range is the one pair of jeans in the collection, which is available in sizes 14 to 28.

The monochrome collection is Holliday's first foray into the world of full collection design, but hopefully it won't be the last. MBLM by Tess Holliday is available now both online and in stores at Penningtons, and it's definitely worth the investment for your upcoming summer wardrobe.
