Lamar Odom Was Spotted At A Bar, But That Doesn't Mean His Recovery Is Off Track

It's been almost six months since Lamar Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, and even though his outlook was grim at first, it certainly seems like he's beaten the odds and is doing really well these days. It's awesome to hear, but some fans were worried when reports of Odom drinking alcohol at a bar over the weekend began to surface. What could that mean for his health? Although Odom has yet to comment on his outing himself, he still could be doing just fine. A source close to the former NBA player recently spoke to E! Online about the situation, and the latest update on Lamar Odom's condition sounds overwhelmingly positive.

Bustle has reached out to Odom's rep regarding the alleged bar outing, but has not yet heard back.

As the original story goes, on Sunday morning, Odom was spotted at an Irish pub called Johnny O'Brien's, ordering drinks with friends before going to church with Khloé Kardashian and her fam. Since he is still healing after a massive health scare, it's totally understandable that seeing him drink would be cause for concern.

However, the owner of the bar told E! that he only had one drink and was in a good mood, and the source who talked to the site echoes the sentiment that everything is going well for him these days. In fact, according to the insider, it's not drinking that Odom has a problem with, and he's "well aware" of what he needs to be doing to take care of himself.

And speaking of his health, a difference source told the site that things are going extremely well for Odom these days, and it's really good to hear an update like this, especially after everything he's been through over the past several months. The insider said,

It's incredible. It's as if the accident never happened. He almost died and came back the same person. We are all so happy and grateful. Eventually Lamar hopes he might even be able to play basketball again. That's what he is working towards. And no one has more determination than Lamar. His recovery is a testament to his incredible spirit and drive.

Another source added, "He is not spiraling out of control. His trip to the bar was literally his way of trying to gain some semblance of a normal life. He wants to try and get out there a little more and get back to a regular schedule."

Reportedly, Kardashian is still helping Odom with his recovery, and later in the day on Easter, he celebrated the holiday with her and her family. By all appearances, it does seem like he's doing worlds better than anyone expected he would initially, and it looks like the Kardashians have played a huge role in that. It's super sweet that they've pulled together to help him out at such a difficult time, because dealing with something like this has to be even harder without a solid support system.

Here's hoping the positive updates about Odom's condition keep pouring in. Maybe we'll see him back on the basketball court someday soon after all!
