The 'Popstar' Soundtrack Is Hella High School

by KT Hawbaker

As the reviews begin to roll in for Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, comparisons between Justin Bieber and Andy Samberg's egotistical main character keep popping up, and although the filmmakers have denied that Conner is based on the "Sorry" singer, fans of the Lonely Island and their brand of parody might wonder how exactly the new movie's soundtrack stacks up against the Biebs. While I am 90 percent sure that Samberg could beat Bieber in an arm wrestling match, I'm 100 percent certain that the songs from the Popstar soundtrack could rival most of Bieber's own stuff.

With 28 songs on its playlist, the Popstar soundtrack features plenty of sure-to-be hits. I am personally most excited about the group's collaborations with bonafide pop stars, including my preteen favorite, Linkin Park, and Adam Levine, who collaborates with Conner4Real on the duet on "I'm So Humble." While the album drops with the movie on June 3 through Republic Records, you can get to know now who's singing what on the Popstar soundtrack. Here's quick roster of this must-have tracklist, which will surely bring out all the nostalgia.

"I'm So Humble" Ft. Adam Levine

Real humble, guys.

"Equal Rights" Ft. P!nk

Crossing my fingers for a really sarcastic anthem a la "We Are The World."

"Turn Up The Beef" Ft. Emma Stone

Do I wanna know what "beef" actually means here?

"Should I Move?" Ft. Akon

The whole gang from "I Just Had Sex" is back for this one.

"Things In My Jeep" Ft. Linkin Park

I tried to squash my fandom for this band, but in the end it doesn't even matter. I'm really excited for this part.

"Ashley Wednesday" Ft. Seal

In the film, Seal is (spoiler!) attacked by wolves that Conner booked to, uh, have around while he proposes to his girlfriend of six months. Eek.

"Finest Girl (Bin Laden Song)"

Well then. This one's gonna be interesting.

Think you'll be singing the praises of this film? Based upon the folks on the soundtrack, I'm ready to party like it's Prom 2008.
