Will Might Be The New Monster On 'Stranger Things'

by Lindsey Kupfer

After that intense Stranger Things season finale [SPOILERS AHEAD], there are so many questions that need to be answered in a possible Season 2. To name a few, we need to know if the Upside Down monster is dead, what happened to Eleven and why Hopper seems to be feeding her, but most of all we need to know if Will is turning into the next monster on Stranger Things . There were plenty of signs in the season finale that this alternate world is way bigger than we thought it was and that there’s probably multiple monsters living there. Not to mention that scene with Will at the end suggesting that he’s not out of the Upside Down entirely yet.

Just to recap a little: At the very end of the season, Will and his family are sitting down for Christmas dinner and he excuses himself to go to the bathroom. He then throws up some type of weird leech-type thing and all of a sudden he’s imagining himself back in the Upside Down. Is it PTSD after being trapped there for a week or is there something else going on?

Whether or not Will turns into the monster next season, there have definitely been major signs that there are more evil creatures in the Upside Down we need to be worried about.

Whatever Was Attached To His Mouth

First of all that scene with them pulling whatever it was out of his mouth was super gross, but it was alive. We still don’t know what it was, but it seems like it could be a major hint about another monster. Clearly there are multiple living things in the Upside Down.

This Weird Thing That Looks Like An Egg

I don’t know about you, but this looks like a hatched egg to me. That’s never a good sign.

He Was Found In What Looks Like A Nest

All of the monsters victims were brought to that one spot in the library and kept there almost like a nest. There were former victims that were already skeletons there, plus Barb. If it wasn't a nest, why wouldn't the monster kill people and leave them where they are in the Upside Down.

That Bathroom Scene At The End

Just when we all thought will was home and safe, that moment at the end proved that it’s not only still happening, but that there’s probably multiple monsters. Even if Will doesn’t turn into the monster, it would be odd that an entire parallel universe has one monster, right?

It Keeps The Plot Going

It’s true, we don't know whether or not the monster is actually dead right now, but if he keeps coming back to life, things are going to get pretty boring. It seems likely that multiple monsters would be the next step in expanding the other dimension.

There’s More To Explore

The Duffer Brothers recently revealed to Variety that they have a 30-page document detailing the Upside Down. “We have all this stuff that we just didn’t have time for, or we didn’t feel like we needed to get into in season one, because of the main tension of Will,” Ross Duffer said. “We have that whole other world that we haven’t fully explored in this season, and that was very purposeful.”

So much more drama coming.
