Lauren Prepon & Ben Foster Are Reportedly Engaged

It seems like someone spilled some love potion on the Orange Is The New Black cast. Less than 24 hours ago, OITNB actor Samira Wiley announced her engagement to Lauren Morelli, a writer on the show, and they looked adorably happy. And not long after, it was reported that Laura Prepon and Ben Foster were engaged on the same night that they made their red carpet debut as a couple. How's that for a shock? Most people didn't know these two were even together, so how did Prepon and Foster meet?

While the couple didn't confirm they are engaged themselves, Prepon was spotted with a diamond ring on her ring finger during the New York premiere of The Girl On the Train. The two looked cozy on the carpet and sources later confirmed to E! that "the actors are indeed planning to wed." Bustle has reached out to reps for Prepon and Foster on the reports that they are engaged, but has not yet received a response.

Well, this one was shocking to me, because last I heard of Foster dating was when he was with Robin Wright... which I guess was a while ago. As for Prepon and Foster, it looks like they've been friends for a while and that they have a mutual good friend.

The first signs of their relationship came when Us Weekly spotted the couple together in July. An onlooker noted of their outing in New Jersey, “She was holding onto Ben and was all over him... They were really close, talking and laughing.” Us Weekly also reported that the two share a friend in Danny Masterson, who was Prepon's That '70s Show co-star and brother of her ex-boyfriend, Christopher Masterson.

In addition to their mutual friend, Entertainment Weekly reported that Prepon has known Foster since she was 18, so they might have had a long friendship before any romance. It seems highly likely that they were friends before dating, considering Foster is friends with both Masterson brothers, and Prepon dated Christopher for seven years.

While the details aren't clear of exactly how Prepon and Foster met, I assume they met through their mutual friends and finally took their friendship to the next level. Good luck to them!
