Everyone's Kimye Wedding Dreams Almost Came True

by Lia Beck

In a recent interview, James Franco mentioned that Kanye West asked if he and Seth Rogen could perform their "Bound 2" parody at the Kimye wedding (I'm assuming West calls it the Kimye wedding too) and we found ourselves confused. Was this just a silly joke or did Yeezy really make this request? It's hard to tell with Franco, but now his story has been confirmed by the Kim to his Kanye. On Thursday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Seth Rogen said the Kanye West story is true. West did call himself and Franco with the request, but unfortunately for the wedding guests and anyone with E! on their cable plan, Rogen and Franco are not going to perform. What gives?

As Rogen explained it,

Me and Franco got a call. [West] said that he was thinking it may be funny if we performed it at the wedding and we came out on a motorcycle, and then we were like, 'And then what do we do?' And then we were all like, 'I don’t know!' And then we were like, 'That's probably not gonna be very funny' because [West is] like, 'Then I'm just rapping with you and James Franco on a motorcycle for five minutes.' And thank God [we] kind of realized that it might not be the best idea. But if he wanted me there I would have been there naked, with a shirt off, however he wanted me, on a motorcycle, doing whatever he needed 'cause I'm a fan. That's just as a fan.

Rogen has exactly the right attitude about this. If Kanye West asks you to do something at the Kimye wedding, you do it. The Kimye wedding is one of the craziest events of pop culture history and it hasn't even happened yet. It has a life of its own. It exists outside of Kardashian and West themselves. Plus, you would get to appear on Keeping Up with the Kardashians and who would turn that down?

But this isn't going to happen for Rogen because the guys have a point. The idea of this performance sounds unbelievably awkward, so as far as wedding planning goes, it's a good thing West nixed it. Can you imagine West's family and Kardashian-Jenner hangers-on sitting in some opulent French palace, all dressed up and watching West perform a song that includes the lyrics "I wanna fuck you hard on the sink" while shirtless Seth Rogen holds on to James Franco on a motorcycle? Can you imagine that? I hope you can because it's pretty damn amazing to picture. At least we can dream.
