How Would Katniss React To Her Break-Up?

by Christine DiStasio

Ugh, say it ain't so. The X-Men: Days of Future Past costars and generally adorable couple, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult, have broken up, according to E! News. It's okay if you need to take a moment now to process this information — I sympathize with your disbelief and sadness. Shortly after rumors that Hoult and Kristen Stewart went on a date hit the Internet on Friday morning, E! News exclusively announced that the pair had called it a "very amicable" quits. However, as far as E!'s source revealed, they had a good reason — their careers and work schedules were "difficult on their relationship."

To put it simply, my heart can't bear the thought of J. Law holed up somewhere, feeling sad about this break-up, and crying into her large pizza and bucket of beer. And, if I'm being completely honest, her best film roles — including her 2013 Academy Award-winning role of Tiffany in Silver Linings Playbook — can't really see that, either. Because if this truly was an amicable split, J. Law and Hoult are being just as mature about it as they've been in the past.

Back in May 2014, J. Law revealed her empowering views on her relationship with Hoult to Marie Claire; she and her former boyfriend had a mutual understanding that when work and life gets in the way, they are individuals first and in a relationship second, but they "know that we have each other." So, while we're hoping that this split is in the same context as Hoult and J. Law's previous break-up, here's how her best film roles would react to her break-up and how they'd expect her to deal:

The Hunger Games' Katniss Everdeen

K-Stew rumors? J. Law's not worried about that and neither is Katniss Everdeen. They're too busy leading a revolution against the Capitol and Hollywood fat-shamers. They appreciate your concern, though.

American Hustle's Rosalyn Rosenfeld

Rosalyn took her separation from her husband in stride and they remained amicable. If J. Law and Hoult are meant to get back together somewhere down the road, this break-up will just be a few cracked eggs in the grand scheme of things. (Such wisdom from a woman who blew up her microwave.) And, if she is feeling a little down, she could always take a note from Ros and find someone to buy her a drink, because there's definitely no shortage of people will to do so.

Silver Linings Playbook's Tiffany

Did you just ask her if she's going to be okay? Because she's going to be totally fine — "amicable" means amicable. In all the time we've known J. Law in front of the camera, when has she ever not been completely candid? If she says it was amicable, then I believe her. In fact, she and Hoult are probably dancing it out right now.

Now, let's get back to the business of talking about how great J. Law is and how we admire her for being the realest in the game. Thank you.
