Do You Know Where They're Getting Married?

by Christine DiStasio

Where in the world is George Clooney getting married? You're probably as confused as all of the paparazzi and journalists who flocked to the Kensington and Chelsea Register's office in London because they believed that George Clooney and fiancée Amal Alamuddin would be married on Friday. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it'd been speculated all week that Clooney and Alamuddin would formally marry in a private ceremony at the register's office. Well, they didn't — probably because Clooney already confirmed the pair will marry in Venice, Italy while discussing the nuptials at a charity event in Florence on Sunday. But, I can understand why all of these people, including myself, could be confused. I mentioned three locations alone in this paragraph.

And, admittedly, I miss spoke on Friday morning when I mistakenly said that Clooney would marry in Florence instead of Venice. HOW DARE I. Don't worry, I slapped myself on the wrist already. But again, announcing that you'll marry in Venice while at an event in Florence? Very sneaky, George. So, in the interest of keeping mine and all of your facts straight, here's a cheat sheet of all of the locations that've been thrown around since Clooney hung up his Forever Bachelor title and proposed to Alamuddin.

What's Happening At The Location: Alamuddin practices law in London and she's also having her Alexander McQueen wedding dress made here. Also, according to THR's report and the Kensington and Chelsea Register's office, it is where the couple got their marriage license.

What's NOT Happening: Clooney and Alamuddin's wedding. DUH.

What's Happening At This Location: THR announced on Sept. 11 that Clooney is attached to a short Downton Abbey charity film that will air on ITV during the holiday season. Clooney will appear in a sketch that will be set in Highclere Castle, Downton Abbey's filming location.

What's Not Happening Here: Unlike this popular theory suggested, Clooney and Alamuddin won't be getting married here.

What's Happening Here: On Sept. 8, Clooney announced that he would be married in Venice at an event in Florence held by the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center after accepting a humanitarian award. He told attendees, “I met my lovely bride-to-be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying, in a couple of weeks, in Venice, of all places.”

What's Not Happening Here: CLOONEY AND ALAMUDDIN WON'T GET MARRIED HERE. GIVE IT UP.

What's Happening At This Location: THIS is where George Clooney and fiancée Amal Alamuddin will be married according to what the actor revealed at the aforementioned event.

What's Not Happening Here: Anything other than the Clooney-Alamuddin nuptials. Boom.

Lake Como

What's Happening At This Location: Clooney has a vacation house here that's beautiful and dreamy and all famous people love it. But also, according to the sources that claimed that Clooney and Alamuddin would have a private ceremony in London, the couple are also planning on holding a lavish event at Lake Como later this month.

What's Not Happening Here: Well, we don't really know yet. Clooney and Alamuddin could be having a reception of sorts at Lake Como. Or maybe they'll just honeymoon here.
