Jane Lynch Talks Cory Monteith 'Glee' Tribute

by Kate Ward

Ryan Murphy, the creator of Glee, has been talking about the TV series' Cory Monteith tribute since just days following the actor's death. And now, we're finally starting to hear details about what exactly we might see.

Less than one week ago, Murphy let fans know that Finn Hudson's fate would not be revealed during the course of the tribute episode ("...yet," the Glee creator disarmingly said). And despite a Season 5 trailer that seemed to tease happier times for the McKinley High School crew, it seems we are indeed in for some heart-wrenching moments during the musical series' third episode, which will toast Monteith. (The actor passed away in March following a lethal overdose of heroin and alcohol.)

Jane Lynch was the first actress to directly address the episode's content, tweeting Wednesday to Glee's creators, "Just read Cory Monteith memorial episode. Most beautiful thing. Thank you, MrRPMurphy @BFalchuck Ian Brennan."

We can expect many more similar sentiments to hit the Web in the coming weeks and days, when the cast will shoot the episode after delaying production following Monteith's death. Season 5 will premiere Sept. 26, with the Monteith tribute episode — filmed with input from the actor's co-star and girlfriend, Leah Michele — two weeks later.

If the result is anywhere as touching as Glee's first tribute to Monteith, we'll be inconsolable for months.
