Celebs Are Celebrating National Cat Day Too!
I was going to start this off with a detailed description of what my cat is doing on National Cat Day, then I realized that could be a little weird. But then, I remembered, if there is any day to gush about these furry little, angsty creatures from heaven, now is the time. National Cat Day is the day cat lovers from around the country stand tall and proud for their love of their feline friends and don't really care what people think about it. I, for one, am so grateful for this because cats and the people who love them so often get reputations as strange hermits who knit their cat sweaters every evening. (To be fair, that only happens like once a month for me.)
In a strange occurrence, it also happens to be National Oatmeal Day, and if you thought there wasn't a way to combine these two things, Ellen DeGeneres shows below that when it comes to cute cats on the Internet, any and all things are possible. She wasn't the only person taking to social media to pay tribute to cats and show the world that even the most misunderstood felines can bring us all together. Alright then, so I think that brings me to the end of my cat lady speech, so let's check out what celebrities are celebrating this momentous day along with us.
Ricky Gervais
Jimmy Fallon & The Roots
These guys paid homage to the kid with the coolest cat themed high school photo.
Taylor Swift, obviously
We knew Swift would definitely celebrate National Cat Day, but she gave us an even bigger treat when she posted a video of herself making cat sounds. Sounds like true cat lady material to me.
Jim Gaffigan
Gaffigan brought up a disturbing concern.
Ellen DeGeneres
The talk show host combined a bunch of obscure national holidays into a cute video.
Karl Lagerfeld
Karl Lagerfeld's fabulous kitty, Choupette, graced us with her presence.
Zachary Quinto
Quinto shared a photo of his cat staying classy even in a cast.
Nicky Hilton
And in true Hilton form, Nicky made cat day all about herself.
