Cara D. Got a Subtle Makeover

by Erin Mayer

Stop the presses! I have some big news to kick off your Monday. Cara Delevingne dyed her hair light brown and it looks awesome. I definitely had her pegged as a permanent blonde, or at least someone who would experiment with crazy hair colors. But something as tame and subtle as brown is almost more unexpected coming from the model who once wore a pizza jumpsuit in public.

The English beauty debuted her darker locks at the LACMA Art + Film Gala hosted by Gucci this weekend. The new shade perfectly compliments her porcelain doll complexion and, of course, those famous eyebrows. Delevingne styled her new hair in a messy braid tossed over one shoulder. Although her coiffure stole the show, her ensemble was nothing to scoff at — a gown with an asymmetrical neckline, high slit, and dramatic shoulder draping lined with gunmetal sequins and paired with buckled pumps. Her makeup look combined a smoky eye with glossy nude lips. Our favorite t-shirt lover sure does clean up nicely.

I personally think that the brown really works on Delevingne. The darker color gives her a more polished, grown-up look than the blonde, which is a great thing since she's about to be hitting the red carpet hard while promoting her new film Paper Towns. With her high fashion background, I have no doubt she's going to put all those other movie stars to shame with her incredible outfits.
