Kate's Shoe Line Seems Promising

by Sienna Fantozzi

Celebrities wearing their own products is a great marketing ploy, as long as it's tasteful. When Blake Lively started wearing exclusively Preserve (her lifestyle website) items, I rolled my eyes a tiny bit. It was massively obvious, and almost overdone. But Blake isn't the only one using her personal style to advertise her products — Kate Bosworth stepped out wearing her shoe line, and it actually wasn't obnoxious.

Bosworth announced her Matisse shoe line a few weeks ago, and the few early images released seemed promising. But the actress was photographed in Los Angeles yesterday wearing the Judith mules she designed, and the pictures made me want to add them to my already too long Christmas list — although they aren't available until March 2015. Bummer.

The buckle-embellished and star-adorned black mules are a way to glitz up the classic boho look, and pairing them with black skinnys and an Isabel Marant oversized knit kept it effortlessly chic. The best part is, the shoes definitely reflect Kate's personal style, so this didn't feel like some cheesy marketing gimmick, it just felt real and authentic — and got me all the more excited for the line's debut this Spring. I don't think she'll be needing an ad campaign for this one.
