Does Benedict Cumberbatch Have a Sibling? Yes, & Her Name is Even More Unique & Fancy Than His
Can you imagine if there was more than one Benedict Cumberbatch running around? Now that'd be a great day for everyone. Even though there might not be a twin, clone, or look-alike, what about a sibling? Does Benedict Cumberbatch have a sibling? Well, it looks like he absolutely does! Cumberbatch has a half-sister named Tracy Peacock-Tabernacle. Yes, that is her real name. Seriously, I just want to be a part of this family so I can have a fancy name too. Of course, I could always just marry the Sherlock star and become Mrs. Cumberbatch. Wow. That has a nice ring to it.
Sorry, just got a little off track. Back to his half-sister. If we aren't lucky enough to have more than one Cumberbatch in this world , the next best thing is a sister or brother, right? The more the merrier, if I do say so myself, when it comes to the amazing man that is Cumberbatch. With that said, let's dig into his sister's life. Who is she? What does she do? Are they close? So many questions, and, unfortunately, very little answers, of course. Cumberbatch seems to be a pretty private person, and the same can also be said for Peacock-Tabernacle.
But, fear not, because are a few fun facts that we do know about Peacock-Tabernacle and her relationship with her little brother.
She's His Half-Sister
As stated above, Peacock-Tabernacle is Cumberbatch's older half-sister. According to IMDb, Cumberbatch's mother gave birth to Tracy during her first marriage to James Tabernacle.
She Talks About His Love Life
Like any good sibling does, Peacock-Tabernacle dishes about her brother's love life. She once said, "One of his regrets is that he hasn’t found someone to settle down with. I think they would have to be someone not in the acting profession. Someone who was happy to hold the fort while he went off and pursued his career." Well, Cumberbatch is now getting married, so, Tracy, feel free to dish about the wedding and their love, please.
She Used to Babysit Him & It Wasn't Easy
As an older sibling usually does, she used to babysit her brother. Cumberbatch revealed to British GQ that his sister wasn't the best babysitter, but she tried. He said he first cheated death when his sister accidentally left him crying on a roof. She thought it would help him calm down, but then she forgot about him. Cumberbatch said, "Then, she forgot about me! I mean, it was funny. She was in the kitchen with her friends and she suddenly saw the snow falling through the window..." According to the actor, he had turned blue and had to thaw out on a radiator until his parents came home. Wow. Talk about adventures in babysitting.
OK. I need more childhood Cumberbatch stories, stat.
