Abbey Kershaw & Riley Keough Cover Vogue Australia

by Stephanie Chon

From matching friendship tattoos to galavanting around Coachella together, it’s clear that model bestie love is in the air, especially when it comes to Vogue. We’ve seen BFFs Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner playing around with selfie sticks at a photoshoot, Cara Delevingne, Suki Waterhouse, and Georgia May Jagger smizing it up on this month’s issue, and now, BFFs Abbey Lee Kershaw and Riley Keough on the cover of Vogue Australia.

According to the interview on Style.com, the best friends first met when they were filming for Mad Max: Fury Road. But before becoming each other’s besties and sharing this month's cover, Kershaw had already been a familiar face for Vogue Australia. Editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia, Edwina McCann, told Style.com that, “Abbey sells well for Vogue and is very popular with our readers who have followed her career closely. The epic marks Abbey’s first major film role and we couldn’t be happier to celebrate this milestone with her.”

Although Kershaw is widely known in Australia, Keough is more popular in America as she is the oldest grandchild of the one-and-only rock and roll king, Elvis Presley. Naturally, Keough began her career in music and ventured into film and modeling later on. McCann said that Keough and Kershaw became so close that Kershaw even became, "Riley's bridesmaid in her wedding to Australian stuntman Ben Smith-Peterson whom she wed just a week before our cover shoot in February."

The Vogue Australia cover shows Keough hugging Kershaw from behind as both models are dressed in stunning, blush-nude Armani dresses. I hope to see more of this duo in other movies and magazine covers in the near future! (Side note: Does anyone else think Riley Keough looks a little like Kristen Stewart?)
