7 Ways To Cope With 'Revenge' Ending

by Jefferson Grubbs

It's official, ladies and revengers: ABC's sudsy Hamptons is getting the red sharpie treatment. The current Season 4 of Revenge will be its last, as executive producer Sunil Nayar announced to Entertainment Weekly this Wednesday: "We can officially tell our fans that this will be the end of the story. We’ve been talking to the network and we all just wanted to make sure that we felt very confident. Now that everybody has seen the finale — which is fabulous — everybody understands that as much as we all adore the show, it has hit exactly the mark it needed to to end. This is the series finale of Revenge that will be airing in a couple weeks."

Since the show's ending is being announced at such a late date, will the season — nay, series — finale be satisfying for long-time viewers? "There’s a tiny little cliffhanger in the series finale," Nayar admitted, but promises that the ending will be satisfactory. "I really feel like the last couple chapters are worthy of the first many."

Things will have to wrap up quick in the season's last two weeks, as the most recent episode saw Emily Clarke go to jail for murdering her arch-nemesis Victoria Grayson — who actually killed herself in a giant explosion and framed Emily. Will Emily end the series in prison? Will she die? Or will she live happily ever after?

While we all ponder those questions, here are some steps you can take to cope with the fact that Revenge is about to be over for good:

Change Your Name

Now that your life is over, you might as well adopt a new identity and move to a new town, somewhere you can grieve in peace and plot your revenge.

Put Together An All-White Ensemble

But not until after Memorial Day, you heathen.

Strut Around The Balcony Of Your Gorgeous Beach House

They say the best revenge is living well, right?

Host A Fancy Party

Drown your sorrows in copious amounts of champagne and the company of sycophantic one-percenters. (It will be a Fourth of July party with a red-white-and-blue theme, preferably.)

Plan Your Own Revengenda

Oh, and get a self-made billionaire with a 170 IQ for a sidekick, while you're at it.

Then download and print a picture of Sunil Nayar's face so you can cross it off.

Start A Petition

Now that Emily VanCamp's schedule has cleared up, start a campaign for her to reprise her Captain America: The Winter Soldier role, Sharon Carter/Agent 13, on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. — or its upcoming spinoff.
