'RHONY's Sonja Is A Relationship Guru

by Sara Steinfeld

Relationships are hard, you know? We know it, the Real Housewives of New York City know it, and perhaps most of all, Sonja Morgan knows it. I mean, after all, Sonja did appear on The Millionaire Matchmaker. In fact, if I were going to go to anyone for relationship advice, it would definitely be Sonja. Don't get me wrong—Bethenny Frankel is my homegirl for just about every other aspect in life, but when it comes to love, I don't know if I want someone who's so tell-it-like-it-is. And honestly, we could learn a lot about relationships from Sonja.

Let's look at the facts here: Sure, Sonja is divorced, but she's never without a man on her arm, age-appropriate or otherwise. I've gotta give it to her, especially considering the fact that I'm nothing if not totally inept in the love department. NYC is a tough place to find someone to go out for a decent and not-at-all awkward dinner with, let alone a serious, long-term relationship. Maybe if we all took a page out of Sonja's book I wouldn't have to suffer through all of the OK Cupid! swiping nonsense. Also, I'm getting a little tired of constantly getting messages from random guys asking if I'm a submissive. Seriously, guys, don't send anyone that message. Like, ever. Anywho, here are all of the important lessons that Sonja Morgan can teach us about relationships.

Own Everything You Do

You can't possibly have a successful relationship with someone else until you're happy with yourself, and that means owning all of your s***.

Be Open To Anything

You never know where a relationship can go unless you're open to anything, especially early on.

Don't Let The Bar Scene Get You Down

Just because every guy at the bar seems like some kind of horrifying spillover crowd from Jersey Shore doesn't mean that the right guy isn't out there.

Always Look Your Best

Wise words that your mother would approve of.

Sometimes You Have To Do Crazy Things For Love

What can I say?

And You Can Always Bounce Back From A Breakup

Sometimes it just takes some dancing and some liquor.
