Hilary Duff Says Aaron Carter Came To Her In A Psychic Reading

Hilary Duff’s love triangle with Aaron Carter might just haunt her forever. On the April 1 episode of the Las Culturistas podcast, the actor-singer revealed that her late ex-boyfriend visited her once in a psychic reading. And no, this is not an April Fool's joke.

Duff explained that she occasionally “dabbles” in seeing various types of psychics to “validate the path” she’s on, but also for entertainment purposes. “I’m not living by it, like, firmly,” she said. “I’m just like, ‘Let’s have fun with this.’” She called a medium who’s apparently “so hard to get ahold of” (no, her name wasn’t Raven Baxter) and is not supposed to know who you are over the phone.

However, she identified Duff thanks to an unexpected spiritual presence. “I was like, ‘How do I start? Do I start asking you questions?’” she recalled. “She’s like, ‘Well, people are going to start showing up to speak with you, and there’s someone here, Aaron with two A’s.’” Needless to say, Duff was caught a little off-guard. “I was like, ‘Is it Aaron Carter?’”

Duff adopted the psychic’s sassy accent to highlight her astonishment. “She was, like, ‘Sure is. What the hell is he doing here?’” she continued. “I was like, ‘Well, that’s my childhood boyfriend. And, you know, that would make sense to me.’ And, she’s like, ‘Are you Hilary Duff?’”

Duff didn’t share the message that her psychic relayed from Carter, partly because she was too busy fangirling over the singer. “She was like, ‘So Yesterday’ helped me through my breakup, and I will never not love you,” she said, calling it a “really wild experience.”

While Duff didn’t go into detail about her teenage romance with Carter, she said his appearance via psychic made sense because she’s still close with his family. “I’m friends with Aaron Carter’s sister still, Angel,” she revealed. “Our kids go to the same school. She’s a lovely, literal angel of a person. We’re very close. We talk about Aaron often.”

Duff and Carter dated when they were teenagers in the early 2000s after he guest-starred on her breakout series, Lizzie McGuire, causing an infamous love triangle when he went on to date her Disney peer Lindsay Lohan (don’t worry, that beef is squashed). After his death in 2022, Duff shared a sentimental tribute to her first public beau.

“For Aaron- I’m deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in-front of the whole world,” she wrote. “You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent… boy did my teenage self love you deeply.”
